Well the show isn't working where it is, sooner or later I think bosses will deide on a switch. There's a massive turn off when Richard and Judy come on, I'd do a trial period of Richard and Judy at 3.30, Countdown at 4.15 and DOND at 5 to see how well it works.

Oh yes, I see what you mean. But for time being they want it to remain as an afternoon show following on from Countdown. It would be nice to have Countdown back at 4.30pm and then DOND to follow it.
I wonder if Richard and Judy would go down well as a mid-afternoon venture though?

If that means extending DoND to an hour, I don't think it will work very well at all.

Todays' contestant was the first to do a swap at the end. However instead of walking away with £250 she ended up with just £5. At one point the offer was about £4000.

Indeed, the most unfortunate contestant was Irene. But she played the game out and hopefully enjoyed the experience.
She has been on the series 28 shows. They record THREE shows per day. I don't know how many days they do a week though. I would imagine two days to get the week's six would be enough if they are already ahead in time.
To go back to a poster earlier DOND would not run from 5.00-6.00pm but from 5.15-6.00pm therefore putting R&J at 3.30pm and restoring Countdown back to it's original time of 4.30pm.

Anyone got the breakdown of ratings for Deal or No Deal over the Christmas period?
As for moving it - it was strange having it back at 4.15pm today, and I think if they did shake things up I'd put R&J at 4.15pm, DOND at 5.15pm - but remember the 5.15pm slot is typhically more competitive, so could actually have a negative impact on the shows ratings.
If it wasn't for The Simpsons, I think C4 would be wise to have Deal or No Deal on at 5.45pm.
As for Richard and Judy - there are always rumoured they'll be dumped, and I think with DOND now fixed in the 4.15pm slot, R&J should end in May to make way for BBLB and C4's other daytime hits like Come Dine with Me and The Coach Trip - both of which are said to be returning. I think shows like A Place in the Sun etc. could go out before Countdown at 2.30pm/3.00pm.
Finally - going to set up a poll about Countdown/Deal being on six nights a week. Basically asking when you want the sixth edition - if at all, and should they go 7 nights a week. Personally I think 5 nights is fine, but if they are going for six I think Sunday would be better as there is nothing on Sundays and it be easier to air the shows in there regular slot.

No keep it at 45 minutes but I would have DOND starting at dead on 5 so people wouldn't switch over.

Hmm, but then you have the tricky proposition of finishing at 5:45.
Over the Christmas period, DoND was averaging over four million, peaking at 4.5m at one point.
Re: recordings,
Three (although we've also heard they cut back to two for a period) a day over a five week period with a week off in the middle (this entire 66 episode series had finished filming by the end of the first week of December - hence the confused looks on old people's faces when they get asked if they had a nice Christmas).
Recording resumes next Monday.

Countdown's earlier timeslot doesn't help it's ratings, but I'm not sure how well it would hold up if it crossed the first few minutes of Paul O'Grady.

I thought BBlB will now permanently be placed at breakfast time during BB periods, and had been dumped from daytime?
This time last year BBLB had a new late-night home. It didn't work and got itself back in the teatime schedule, though a weaker slot.
I expect the same thing will happen with the breakfast slot - though as The Simpsons ratings in the 6pm slot are now alot weaker than they were a year ago, I think BBLB has a stronger claim on the slot for this series.
