The US version which has just started in primetime there has become a hit after 5 episodes. It's hosted by Howie Mandel and the prizes run from 1c to $1M.
I really would love to see an evening repeat for those of us who won't be able to watch when the holidays are over. Maybe on More 4?

Where is it recorded? Is it a TV Studio, film lot or just somewhere they've converted for he programme?

I had to laugh at all the Bristolian grannies sat in the audience, it reminded me of the audiences that HTV West used to have for their gameshows back in the 1980's. Ironically the show is produced about 300 yards away from the ITV West studios.

Surprisingly, the Saturday editions of Deal or No Deal are to continue in the New Year.
More surprisingly, Countdown will also air on Saturday afternoons from 7 January.
Next week they are scheduled at 4.20pm and 5.05pm, with the following couple of weeks being 4.00pm and 4.45pm.
If this is to continue, I hope Countdown bring forward their final - a series from October till June is far too long with just the weekday editions - I think they could afford to bring it forward to Easter, then have another final at the end of Summer with one more at the end of the year.
And could we see the Countdown final move to Saturdays?

It's a tiny bit different in the US though...there are models holding the boxes instead of the contestants. It's on CNBC USA as well...

No, I think the way he's thinking is that while Paul O Grady gets better ratings than Richard and Judy, maybe by moving the success of Deal or no Deal up to 5pm, the ratings will further improve ready to tackle Paul O Grady's ratings upon its return. Although that does leave the question, where do you put Richard and Judy's show, it's already been moved once (I think)

That's my point. DOND did very well when it went out at 5.15, why give The 5'O Clock Show on ITV a chance to bed in before Richard and Judy comeback?
And when DOND went up against Paul O'Grady it actually beat it on one of the days and ratings for the two shows were very close.
