The basic format is something like this:

Arrow Up to 6 teams of 25 compete in a team competition, with the winning team progressing.

Arrow One further contestant from the losing teams joins the winning team

Arrow The 26 finalists compete to determine who will pick a case and play the main game

Arrow The winner picks one of 26 cases, with the others distributed around the other 25 finalists.

Arrow The winner wins what is in their case, or can accept an offer from the bank based on the value in cases remaining to be opened. The winner opens 6, then 5, then 4,3, 2 and finally individual cases before discovering what is in their case.

Arrow The other 25 finalists can win a spot prize by guessing how much money is in their own case, plus return as a team in the next show.

Lots of pictures and a commentary of the Aussie show on this page here.

But be warned! The French version which they were playing to auditionees has a very different feel to it, and apparently that is the route they're trying to go down.

Glenn Hugill from The Mole is producing, apparently.

Noel Edmonds hosting, apparently!

Noel Edmonds confirmed according to The Independent. I rock!

It's nice to see Endemol finally exporting one of it's big non-reality concepts to the UK.

It really is a pity that overhere they are only known for Big Brother and other reality shows while back home in the Netherlands they're more like Granada, really.
They're also Holland's biggest producer of drama and produce the two highest rated soaps aswel.

I think I'd have probably preferred Les Dennis, but it be good to see Noel back on our screens.

It's pencilled in to start on Oct 31st, along with Countdown, but it's slot is yet to be confirmed. I have seen some reports it will air in the Richard and Judy slot at 5pm, though I think 4pm is most likely.

I for one will be glad to see Noel back on the TV, he's a great presenter and ideal quiz host.

Not, apparently, a nice man to work with or be on a show with - but as a viewer he's very enjoyable to watch.

Glad he's going to be back on telly.

He's a very self-confident man and tends do things his own way. However will be great to see him back on TV! Produced by Endemol? Well, that may tone him down a bit. Wink

Deal or No Deal begins on 31 October in a 45-minute slot at 4.15pm, with Countdown before it at 3.30pm.

Probably about right - I think it could have been too rushed in 30 minutes, and probably dragged on if it aired for an hour.

I hope it succeeds, but I think 4:15 is just a bit too early...

They just did a live link to the Countdown set on Richard and Judy and it's exactly the same set!
