They get the set right on the Newsnight sketch, and the Sunday Am sketch, the Fiona Bruce ones, the breakfast ones, etc etc.....

To be fair, they are BBC sets which Dead Ringers have direct access to. Still, what's so hard about doing the parody on a blue screen and then using a computer generated version of the ITV set.

Aren't the BBC News & Newsnights 'sets' on DR the same with different backdrops?

It's the same desk!

Didn't see the point of the ITV News sketch, & while it was great to see 'Sian Lloyd' for the first time since the pilot show, can't Jan do another BBC weather person seeing the real Helen Willetts is on maternity leave at the mo?

Isn't it about time Carol Kirkwood was 'Dead Ringered' by now?

Originally the Newsnight and News sets were separate, with different desks and backgrounds. However with this series it appears they've opted to use a generic news desk against a green screen.

An interesting mock ident for BBC One into the sketch for Midsummer Murders... Laughing

Hmmm, a Colonoscopy ident....
Sounds like something that you would see on More4 or BBC4....

Last week a load of people said they'd forgot this was on and missed it... so this is just a reminder that it will be on soon... and hopefully as funny as usual! Laughing

Except for viewers in Scotland who have to wait until 11.20pm Rolling Eyes unless they drag the football and Gaelic programmes out for another few hours Wink

Quite good tonight...

Pity they messed up the credits at the end though. The proper BBC2 CA talked over the Dead Ringers spoof CA for a little. Rolling Eyes

Loved The Mint sketch.. "Things you find in the Universe"... Gloria Hunniford, Walnuts...!

I don't know what the whole George Bush and God thing was about though - sort of filled time.

Good ep, shame about the above.

They didn't used to do a proper announcement of the credits of Dead Ringers for this reason
They also didn't used to have an On Screen Next either, they must be really desperate to get people to watch Graham Norton

First time I've caught the show in a while tonight - and a bit disapointed to be honest - from the clips I've seen of things of various things from the first couple of weeks I expected better.

Liked the ITV Play stuff though!

Missed it again Rolling Eyes Laughing Ah well it's not as good as it used to be anyway, I wish they would bring back their Friday comedy night on BBC 2, I would remember it was on then, I can never remember anything that's on a Thursday

Same here. I've been very disappointed with the quality of the programme this series. It was far better in its earlier series when there were more impressions of Blair, Bush, Prescott, David Dickinson, Kilroy, to name but a few. The impressions of Cameron, Menzies Campbell et al are not very good, IMO. I also thought the impression of Mary Nightingale was poor, although Alistair Stewart was good. I just think it has gone a bit downhill this series.
