The ITV News pee take was absolutely on the ball and hilarious. Jon Culshaws Alistair Stewart is probably his second best impression next to Tom Baker.

Although it is a good example of why it was better on the radio.... he sounds like Alistair, but looks nothing like him

Very true, although you must admit the walking around the set in a comedy style was probably what made the sketch as good as it was.

An interesting mock ident for BBC One into the sketch for Midsummer Murders... Laughing

That had me giggling like a girl. I like the idea of the circle being formed by an endoscope camera up someone's arse.

It reminded me of that mock on YouTube (which I can't find atm) with the blood going down the plug during the shower scene in Psycho! Laughing Laughing

Yeah, he's pretty much nailed that Alistair Stewart impression - slightly posh with an element of scientific slurs.

I just love the Kate Silverton "sounds like a lot of fun" sketches.

Pitty they didn't bother getting the set to look anything like what it looks like

I liked the 'giant head' bit. 'I hope you're not going to eat us!' Laughing

If anyone watched Broken News they also parodied ITV News (renamed ESN News in the programme). The ticker read ESN- Standing Up For News and the actors would wander around the studio in a comical fashion.

We are having an anti BBC week aren't we? It's a spoof and a very funny one at that, who cares what the set looks like.

No we aren't.
It's television, they usually try to look like who they are doing, and that includes the set
They get the set right on the Newsnight sketch, and the Sunday Am sketch, the Fiona Bruce ones, the breakfast ones, etc etc.....

To be fair, they are BBC sets which Dead Ringers have direct access to. Still, what's so hard about doing the parody on a blue screen and then using a computer generated version of the ITV set.
