I fear that they've gone back many years with the set. The brick effect on the left hand side is too antiquated and it looks very low budget. not newsy enough, even for Daybreak.

It's GMTV, in all but name! Laughing

One thing they've kept from the original Daybreak , which is something from The One Show which seems to be convention now, is the presenters are at one end of the sofa rather than both being in the middle.

I disagree, it's a very modern take on the classic GMTV look.

Something else the Daybreak Central Scotland has kept, and that's they horrible weather graphics.

So far 15 minutes in, I'm quite liking it. Not as American as I thought either.

The regional weather map is awful

No red background on the clock for regional news here in the Meridian region.

There's actually nothink yet that I don't like...I love the set, the news agenda is what I wanted, 6.16 and not one mention of a competition or a sponsorship (other than local weather). Love the theme, its GMTV but with added news, absolutely loving Matt and Ranvir, they could carry the whole show without the other two easily... I want a good look at the whole set really. Graphics into regional news were smooth although the red box around the clock disappeared here in Granada.

They can't do right for doing wrong, theres a lot of comments on Twitter of people saying 'Whats happened to Daybreak' ...a case of not enough advertising maybe?

Also, I have read 'Looks like BBC News' a few times ...poor ITV can't win.

Well people are more likely to moan than say good things on Twitter about things like Daybreak.

The reaction on here seems to be quite positive, but not as positive as the original and we all know what happened there.

The set looks a bit too busy for me, as do the titles.

As for that Americanised bell in the music... horrid. And very annoying. Would be much nicer leaving it out.

Matt and Ranvir seem more than competent and quite inviting.

Oh and those weather maps... whoever thought colouring the UK lime green needs the sack.

Overall im quite mixed so far, though am optimistic that its still early days.

First advert 20 minutes in... they've pretty much covered the entire news agenda which is brilliant. However i think to put emotive music in the background on the "School Buildings" package is BEYOND CRIMINAL

Also a very short ad-break.
