I wonder since it looks like they are going down the American route with the logos and whatnot, I wonder if they will follow that route and have a voiceover at 6am....'Live from Studio 7 at The London Studios, This is Daybreak, with Matt Barbet and Ranvir Singh'.

Or would that be just TO American?

It'll be coming from studio 3.. Also, a voice over is not that American. Both the BBC and ITN have used them.

I meant American ie NBC Today style with their style of Voiceover in the mornings.

GMTV used a voiceover a few times, notably during the last era (2009-2010), but they also used it around the millenium or so.

Also, if they did have an announcement I doubt they would be as specific as "Studio 7 at The London Studios". Probably just "Live from London" or something.

I knew someone would say that, but Daybreak isn't an ITV News bulletin so I don't think they care too much.

...and GMTV. What would be too American is if they introduced the show as 'with Lorraine Kelly and Aled Jones' only for the show to be presented by someone else because 'Lorraine is off today' - I really don't get that US habit.

Well they do still air Lorraine when Lorraine isn't on, so its a start Laughing.

They should try a voiceover if they're Americanising it, it will differentiate it from Daybreak 1.0 and align it back with GMTV. It might also give it a bit more authority because ITV News use one. If it doesn't work them it can always be dropped.

Just on a completely unrelated note, I find it quite ironic that Daybreak will be becoming GMTV in all but name on 3rd September- the same date that the final GMTV broadcast happened.

If this turns out to be a success, will ITV consider extending to a weekend edition?

'Live from Studio 3 at the London studios, this is Daybreak, with Lorraine Kelly and Aled Jones.' 'Good Morning, I'm Kate Garraway, Lorraine is off today'...

Seems silly too me to have changed the 'Lorraine' logo. It gives the impression that they are merging the two shows and I thought it was all made clear that 'Lorraine' was her own show. I am assuming there will be separate set areas so even though they are in the same studio it could still pass for two separate shows.
Their old logos were the same too, just different colours.

On the press shots, it may just be my eyes, but Ranvir Singh looks pregnant. I'd assumed she'd had her baby, but maybe not. If that's the case, she'll be leaving for maternity leave very soon!

Probably just a bit of post-baby weight. Perfect for targetting those hassled mums.

QUICK - MOVE IT TO QUAY STREET BECAUSE THAT'S HOW YOU SOLVE LONDON CENTRICITY...

rather than just accepting that London is our capital and a programme comes from there, just because the background is London doesn't meant the content is!
