Kate Garraway and Richard Arnold? Producers must be morons.

Probably just keeping their back up plan in place for if it all goes wrong, because Kate & Richard were in no way associated with the downfall of GMTV and Daybreak has been a roaring success since they have both been on. If the new Daybreak turns out to be any good, the solution will be to watch it on +1 on a Friday Laughing .

I like the new logo, as said in pretty much every post its very American. I'd quite like to see an American inspired breakfast show and hope that's the direction they take it in (it so far seems that way), rather than looking like something from the 80s. It will be good to see some new faces but it's a shame Helen doesn't appear to be involved.

Maybe Helen didn't want to be involved? In the last 2 and half years how many on screen staff have been axed or 'got rid of'; Penny, Ben, Andrew, Emma, Richard, Claire, Helen, Andrian, Chrisirine, Kirsty, Tasmin, Steve, Lucy, Dan. That's a lot of people and yes some may not have been axed by as such but really they weren't wanted as part of the new team. Personally I would give a long thought before I'd join ITV Breakfast.

Laura Tobin is an excellent choice for new weather presenter. I've found her slightly too fluffy for the BBC forecasts, but her delivery is perfect for the target audience on Daybreak.

So with Ranvir reading the news during Lorraine and Aled's segment, can we assume that there is no newsreader between 6-7am and Ranvir and Matt will read the news together? Or does anyone have any other info. re the 6-7am segment?

If they're following the GMTV model, the Newshour female presenter would continue to read bulletins from 7am. Now this could mean a reporter could return to read headlines between 6-7am such as Louisa James.

However it could be simply Matt and Ranvir do the heads together during the first hour.

I hope it is just Matt & Ranvir reading the news - I really dislike the way the news is read by somebody other than the presenters.

Cross Channel said that it was going to be a whole new name when I reffered to the middle show as Today (as in GMTV Today) so I don't know what that logo is for?

Daybreak in general, there was always a 'GMTV' sting a the TOTH when there was 'GMTV Newshour' and 'GMTV Today' back in 2008.

Aww! The GMTV 'Channel' sting, rather than the programme stings/titles?

What's the chances the current music package may be leaked after the current look Daybreak ends on Friday? Wouldn't mind that into break bed for the file (and not for any hideous mocks)... Laughing

As for the logo. I must say I really like it. Can't tell you what I was expecting, but it wasn't that anyway. Nice set of colours they've used too. The background looks very 'pastel-y' (if it was a word!). Hopfully more will be leaked over the coming days! But atleast they got the logo right, this time! (It's a start, ITV!)

Intriguing to note that I've not seen anything about Aled stopping or reducing his BBC Commitments on Radios 2, 3 and Wales, so far. He's down to present GMS this coming Sunday.

Always worth having a back up plan where Daybreak is concerned! Laughing

According to the Guardian's Media Monkey and Private Eye a number of high profile presenters turned it down before Lorraine was asked to do it it unsurprisingly.
