Everybody loves to watch a fake laugh, especially from Lorraine Kelly - the queen of them. A vacuous, meaningless advert really. Let's hope that this is just a first attempt. They'll need add a voiceover and extra info to explain to viewers what is happening and when it is happening.
It seems silly, pointless to show Ranvir without crediting her (and similarly naming the other main presenters) when nobody watching the advert will actually know who she is and what her role in the show will be. The average viewer won't know what Matt and Ranvir will be doing in the programme, and I think putting a name to the face before day one is preferable.

None of them have been credited (I know you address this), and you could argue that the target audience will only know who Lorraine and Richard are (assuming they'd know who Aled is if you told them he sung the Snowman song, but not know him by face).
Your post is also making the assumption that Ranvir will become the main newsreader, and whilst that's likely because the newsreaders have been female for at least the last decade, it could be something they're about to change.
Has anything surfaced about who the new weather forecaster is yet?
The promo makes it look like Gethin and Richard will have a bigger role than they have currently, otherwise they could/would have shown Gavin and Kate, extremely sad to see Helen isn't there
I wasn't assuming that Ranvir will take the newsreadng role at all. Just that she is the only presenter that most people will not be aware of, given her regional role until now. She is basically anonymous at the moment and they could have shown anybody next to Matt.
It would seem that Gethin will be getting a larger role, I'd agree. A bad step to use him as Aled's deputy though, if this turns out to be the case. He just seems devoid of any real form of charisma, intelligence or indeed substance. A more familiar, professional face, Mr John Stapleton, would have been a better bet for just once a week. Having said that, this advert seems to suggest a very tight, fresher and newer family of presenters, whereas on Daybreak the array of presenters has been cut and added to very sporadically.
It isn't surprising that Richard is taking a more central role. Just the person that seems to personify the sort of direction that Daybreak will take post 7am with showbiz content.
Anybody seeing the same laughs from Lorraine there as used in the Lorraine Titles? How cheap!
Her fake personality really grates on me, and you've hit the nail on the head. How on Earth some people can begin to compare her to Oprah, I don't know. I can't really talk much, as I haven't watched Oprah nearly as many times as Lorraine.
The deputy presenters, namely Helen Fospero, Kate Thornton, Jackie Brambles (and probably far less so Nadia) have shown how to be sincere, understanding and a good listener to the guests on Lorraine. Ms Kelly just comes across as laboured, fed up and the interviews revolving more around her and her shallow, invalid opinions. She is just so FAKE, and I think it will begin to show - I can see her popularity drop with an over-exposure to her.
It has been totally refreshing to see Helen presenting Daybreak again and I really hope she does get a significant role in the re-launch.
Also, Lucy Watson finished her newsreading duties on Friday and is preparing to move to America as New York Correspondent. However, Helen will be covering Lorraine all of next week so I wonder who will fill in for the news.
The comments from Peter Fincham, I get the impression they are trying to keep the relaunch as low key as possible playing down expectations admitting it won't be overnight success.
I suspect over the next week we will have more promo clips with some commentary to advertise the relaunch.

She has been involved a lot lately so I'd be very surprised if she isn't involved in some capacity, if not for any other reason than Peter Fincham being a big fan and if press reports are to be believed, she was going to present the original Daybreak before they got Christine. I imagine she'll be used mainly from 6-7am when Ranvir is off, appearing after 7am on the odd occasion (most likely during holidays). At the very least I'd still expect her to appear on Lorraine, but I really like her warmth and hope they make her the newsreader (although I fully expect that job to go to Ranvir). I wish they would've just gave her the job instead of Lorraine, it would be someone new/fresh yet already familiar to viewers (if that makes sense).
From that promo, I'm seeing an American-ised and colourful Daybreak (Judging by the colours used for the panels behind, and the bright red chair). The "oh my God we're having such a good time" presenter set up used for the ad says it all on the American front. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KNjmFA6ArFU&feature=related - y'get'me?
Hope they go along the Today Show route. That looks pretty neat! Graphics, Studio ad all that.. (Not from the video either, but the new look)
