Wasn't there a GMTV3 license as well for ITV3? I remember reading GMTV allowed ITV to broadcast through their timeslot on ITV3.

Yes, I remember reading that as well. That there was a GMTV 3, but GMTV always opted to sell airtime to ITV.

I really do wish they took a risk with Matt & Ranvir hosting the main show and kept it quite news focused

You've obviously not seen Ranvir presenting North West Tonight. Dreadful, struggled to ad-lib and the fake chat to fill time at the end of the show was awful.
Really not looking forward to her involvement in the show.

I think the Ad-lib problems on NWT are Six of one and half a dozen of the other, you either can do it or you cant. Gordon "Legend" Burns whilst a legend was never very good at the banter, especially with Its-Roastin'-Diane.

Whilst not great at the banter, I don't think Ranvir will have any problems on TVMocker14's newshour and will most likely excel anchoring her own programme.

...hold on I may have malfunctioned again... meh who cares.

Those chats at the end of NWT were always (and still are) quite cheesy.

I've seen clips of various editions, and they are, but its certainley a better way of closing a bulliten than filling it with a long pan and some extended music, although that does work in some cases.

I've never been an avid fan of NWT but have seen bits and she seems OK, and competent enough to present the programme. In terms of the chats and ad libbing, I'd imagine they'll be different on Daybreak than on NWT, firstly because the co-host almost certainly has an effect on how awkward or flowing a chat is and Daybreak will also have a wider scope for discussion, whilst it will be easier to ad lib on Daybreak because you can just revert to tell viewers what is coming up.

She could end up being better at reading the news (which is what her primary job will be!) than doing those two, but she'll be hidden away at 6am when noone is watching anyway unlike when they had Emma Crosby fronting the main show who was a competent journalist but incredibly annoying and awkward when she had to do the chatty stuff. Besides, the media focus will be on Lorraine & Aled so in terms of PR for the show, she'll have minimal effect on it and lets face it, Lorraine can do no wrong.

[Viewers are very fickle and television moves on very quickly. It was a different TV landscape but you could draw some parallels to when Richard & Judy left This Morning. It completely fell apart afterwards with the new presenters, looked like it was going to be axed, the low key stand ins were eventually brought in as full time replacements and 10 years on the show is arguably stronger than ever .

Er This Morning has never really recovered. It is stable now at around a 21% share but is easily beaten by the BBC. In Richard and Judy's heyday it had over 40% of the audience. I don't see how you can describe that as 'stronger than ever.'

You're comparing 1995 with 2012? Ridiculous. Relative to the current climate, This Morning is a very successful product which is still widely watched and just as relevant as it was in its so called heyday. It went through an extremely rough patch due to a poor choice of presenters but it has more than recovered.

Cane out of regional news into pre break bed and a coming up sequence and into a break, does that usually happen? Also, the transition between the bed and sting is terrible! Needs to build up to the sting or use the normal sting.

Huh? You're throwing words around. AGAIN. TBH, I've not watched Daybreak in weeks because I start work at 6am now. But that's another story for another time. Anyway if the update is at :10 or :20 (can't remember) it would mae sense to run a break straight after, so atleast the next item can be extended without any break

What you made sense of that?

I read it as...
Derp out of derponal derpss into pre derp derp and a derpity derp derp derp and into a derp, does that usually happen? Also, the derpition betwerp the berp and sterp is derp wobble! Needs to build-a-bear BURP to the stirrup or boobs the derpmal blehrp.

Maybe I need to be retuned.

Really its has a worse share than even Daybreak and it is nowhere near as influential or relevant as it was when Richard and Judy were hosting it. Its ratings actually didn't improve from the 'rough patch'. What a recovery Very Happy

This Morning used to own daytime under Richard and Judy and now it gets it's arse whipped by Homes under the hammer, Jeremy Kyle and numerous other daytime shows. To say its as relevant or popular as when R&J hosted is beyond delusional.

You're comparing 1995 with 2012? Ridiculous.

Ridiculous? Not really both BBC ONE and C4 have increased their ratings in that slot over the years and lets not forget that BBC Breakfast ratings have increased over 50% in the last 10 years due to ITV incompetence and btw I was comparing 2000 to 2011. I Don't know where you're getting 1995 from.

This Morning just keeps on getting tackier & tackier. The show has always been considered "low brow" but the current z-list reality star obsessed incarnation makes the Richard & Judy days look like Newsnight.

This Morning is a promotional tool for ITV. It's also made in house. Only reasons it's kept.
