Well at the moment, the Presneter of the night before pre-records the forecasts for the daybreak bulletins don't they? So there's no London or national presnter on at Daybreak hours. I mean I've known London to do out of vision forecasts during Daybreak/ GMTV with the news presnter voicing it. I don't think getting the Same team to do London and national is good idea, give London some individualality they seem to just get ITV News' cast offs for presnters etc. But it does seem all over but then again national ITV News weather has always been a bit sporadic Presneter wise. I never know who'll get.


With cuts being made to LT from October, it wouldn't surprise me if weather is an area ITN can easily merge without causing inconvenience to the viewer. It's not like Sian Lloyd and Lucy Verasamy/Becky Mantin aren't known to the viewers, although Robin could make a much needed male gravitas return to the national.

Get Fred from Granada for the weather on Daybreak and the National. I'm sure he would liven things up ten fold!

Just for anyone interested to know what Kate's new role will be, she isn't going far. She'll be staying on as Lorraine's 'deputy', ie presenting more than Lorraine actually does. See here.

I've also read that Gethin Jones is a "stand-in" presenter - it was Wikipedia so may not be 100% true, or even true at all! Very Happy

Gethin was a stand-in a while ago at the time he stood in as Features Editor, will probably still stand in as he will be the only male presenter left, bar Matt and John, although I do hope there as little 'crossovers' as possible! Yeah, an extended Newshour or an early 'TODAY' (don't know what to call the slot) for a major story, but not Matt subbing for Aled.

So has Gethin ever actually hosted the show? I don't ever recall him standing-in as a host?

Keep him at Granada - I like his "Where's Fred?" slot better than his weather presenting skills!

If they're going for hassled mums you can tell why they've got Alex doing the weather - one search of his twitter shows loads of women saying he's fit etc.

Daybreaks current into break theme just seems so odd. it has no connection to the rest of the package.
It's not hard to mix up a few parts of the current package and make a new shorter break tune, like :

I believe the into break is a lighter version on the sting on track 13, the Regional Opt failure track?
