Nope! The clock is the normal one now, although the astons are really bad quality, as if the network clock is on the regional and the the regions own astons put on.

I had the serious misfortune to tune in yesterday (or the day before) for a brief moment.

Richard Arnold was on the sofa doing some showbiz tattle update - the impending divorce of Johnny Depp and Vanessa Parawhatsit (yawn) - and the whole segment was groaning with insincere mawkish sentiment, "oh no! won't someone think of the children, etc" - mostly led by Garroway but mirrored by Arnold, whose script was peppered with over-rehearsed feeble puns and delivered with an insipid, watery smile.

Lobb smiled on with dead eyes until he deemed it was over and said, "Cheers Rich".

It was excruciating and fake and simply awful. If I worked on that show I'd quit.

In the middle of a piece to camara last week, he stopped to thank Kate for her 'welcome back' present. The whole 'luvvy' display was hilarious Smile
It could be worse he could be Dan Wootton. Mad

This is one of the main reasons why I really can't watch at the minute. I'm all for them taking it down the lifestyle/showbiz route if that's what they want to do (and provide an alternative to the BBC) but at least make it more like This Morning instead of sickly and OKTV-am. Hard to think it's the same show that started in September 2010.

I don't mind a spot of showbiz news either. I have been known to watch E! News, which is a little more adult in its delivery and less sycophantic.

Richard Arnold, Garroway and Lobb are, I'm afriad, a complete turnoff.

I saw a bit this morning (as I was thinking about it after posting), and Garroway's link to their live from the shop where the winning Euromillions ticket was purchased was oozing a false excitement you'd expect from a children's presenter doing a "birthday parade" segment.

Whilst I prefer radio in the morning before work - I have to say that the odd time I have seen Daybroke in recent times then I have to completely agree. The former two have been a turn off for years..

I actually much prefer the original Daybreak team and style - maybe one of the few

Have to agree - can't understand why Kate Garraway was taken on by Daybreak and is seemingly being kept too once Lorraine takes over. She just sums up everything which was wrong with GMTV for me, and now does the same for Daybreak.

Arguably Daybreak failed because they made to many concessions in order to try and keep the GMTV audience watching, but in the end just didn't appeal to those who watched GMTV or those after a more worthy alternative.

Kate is a great presenter but shes holding Daybreak back, and Daybreak is also holding her back. I think she was better when she used to do Lorraine instead of Daybreak itself but I still think she'd be more suited to anchoring Loose Women or something. I also find that shes fine to watch when shes the second presenter (when she was with GMTV for most of her years under Fiona and under Christine at Daybreak) but when she becomes the lead presenter she is absolutely unbearable and far too smug.

I absolutely agree I think the fundamental problem with Daybreak is that too many concession's have happened to try and make it like GMTV. It has simply become seriously lightweight, cheap and inconsistent. However, I can see why they did keep Kate Garraway on given her presenting experience. But, these day's I find Kate and Dan naseauting to watch together. I prefer it when either Helen and John present alongside Dan and Kate at least it makes Daybreak more watchable.

Everybody is entitled to their own opinion for example Cross Channel and other's can defend the direction in which producer's have taken Daybreak. However, from a editorial point of view in my opinion Daybreak has got progressively worse.

Also, one thing that I do wonder in relation to the new Daybreak set for Studio 3 (I know people hate talking about constant revamps - sorry) is that when they officially re-launch on September 3rd it will surely take more than just a weekend to rebuild and construct the new set. Does that mean since Loose Women will be off air for summer that Lorraine will have to be broadcast from Studio 7 (Daybreak's current studio) or will they stop broadcasting Lorraine with Daybreak running to 9.25am? Or will they pre-record Lorraine episodes for the week before the re-launch with a guest presenter.

saw that too. it was painful. Richard Arnold is far too old for all of that and Dan Lobb looked like he would rather be anywhere else

Lorraine I doubt will be presenting during August in the build up to the relaunch, she will be entitled to a holiday before the stint to christmas to prevent breaks during the Autumn, guessing. Lorraine could either be pre recorded with guests and highlights or maybe from the balcony, hopefully with Helen for some of it.

Same here, the earlier shows had their faults but they were workable from there, but they've just changed around with the show far too much, and it has now simply become a GMTV clone albeit worse, the set and the show feel like a whole mess at the moment. Now as an ITV show it obviously prioritisies ITV shows and personalities, I have no problem with that but on some days it's a joke, like for instance this morning, Stacey Soloman, why? I've got nothing against the woman but jesus it's like they're scraping the bottom of the barrel.

One can only hope Lorriane and Aled give it a new lease of life and a better sense of direction, if they fail then having a live show on ITV at breakfast is surely going to die in a matter of time.
