She will now present the first news hour of Daybreak from September.
It has just been announced that Ranvir Singh has signed for Daybreak - her exact role is unclear.

It's a further blow to Kate Garraway and Helen Fospero that they have effectively been shunned yet again for any form of senior role on the new programme they're creating. They're familiar faces and Helen would definitely suit whichever direction they hope to take the show in. It's a bizarre choice, and like others on Daybreak, for the long-term career, moving to ITV and moving to Daybreak does no favours. It's two steps forward, one step back.
She's fairly well liked in the North West, but in this role, it will be interesting to see how she is perceived by viewers. The whole news has just completely taken me by surprise. I would have never believed this even a day ago.
I think Ranvir's promotion to a national TV role just seems a bit too quick. Very hasty and risky. I saw her progression in the BBC to be very enticing, but obviously she was lured with some clever bargaining, from a programme that she clearly loves very much.

Completely agree with the above. Ranvir would have been a brilliant decision to anchor the new Daybreak and would have been a great low-key risk, but to hire her and put her in a role that could be effectively covered [more professionally] by Kate or Helen does seem a bit pointless. On a personal level I just hope Kate & Helen have rejected that job themselves and haven't been overlooked.
It does seem to suggest that Kate will be the end of week and school holidays presenter, but I really do think Helen deserves a proper break into ITV Breakfast instead of her just covering from time to time. I'm not sure where this move will leave her.

I totally agree. In my opinion Helen should be fronting Daybreak's News Hour. I like Kate but I do think it's time she left ITV Breakfast. She has been there for a long time and her contribution is admirable.
Helen would bring a fresh approach.
As you said, I do hope Kate and Helen both rejected the job and weren't overlooked.
I hope that they go in the direction I had mentioned in the past, Lorraine and Aled dealing with all the lighter Entertainment stuff and Human Interest stories with the News Hour presenter being the newsreader and also dealing with all the topical stories of the day, interviewing politicians etc and having her own sofa area.

Kate's appointment as host was only ever temporary following Adrian and Christine's departure. My guess is that Kate will return to her role as Entertainment Editor and stand-in host.
Helen could quite possibly be Ravir's stand-in or even permanent news reader. Daybreak website states that Lucy Watson is New York Correspondent, so it's probable she will still be taking up this role and leaving the UK.

I was looking at the launch photos on TV Live last week. The huge staff turnover really hit home. Tamsin, Adrian, Christine, Phil, Grainne, Kirsty with Steve, Dan, and Lucy on their way out too. Well you can't say Ranvir isn't brave

Does Kier qualify?
Were 4 poofs & a piano axed or meant to last a few weeks?
Not to forget behind the scenes

Those were all associated with the original Daybreak so with a revamped show that is unrecognisable and more like GMTV then its only natural that most of the faces will go with it, just like when it turned into Daybreak to begin with. But I don't think the new show will be a failure and she'll have been advised quite extensively about it.
She could've gone through the 5 Live to BBC News Channel route but by doing Daybreak it opens her up to BBC & ITV national news, topical or lifestyle shows and even Channel 5 News. If the new Daybreak is a success then its possible she could become a household name and have more opportunities than if she stayed at the BBC, so its just whether she was willing to take that risk and she is.

I don't think Kirsty was axed was she? Did she not leave because of wanting to spend time with family?
