Breakfast nor Sunrise have a Christmas theme, and although Breakfast get some tree's in, they don't go OTT like Daybreak. Sure, they could update the titles with some snow that doesn't look cheap like GMTV in 2009, but making a big deal of Christmas isn't the best idea - there are a lot of religions out there, banging on about one isn't good, as they don't go on about Hanukkah when it comes around (Today is the 7th Night of Hanukkah, incase you didn't know).

Anyone know what's happened to the Daybreak website this afternoon? It's completely vanished!

oh yeah. Maybe it is gettin christmas-ified. And is down to replace it.

Or the show has been axed

gm.tv now takes you to the daybreak website which appears to be working

A good amount of ITV.com went down and pages that were actually online had been reverted to a previous version of that page. Many pages like Daybreak, Lorraine, Emmerdale, Coronation Street, TV Guide and all the local websites also went down. News and Sport were the only pages till functioning. All has been resolved Smile

If anyone was interested the www.GM.TV url eventually redirected you automatically to itv.com/daybreak, I found out that it then changed to www.origin.gm.tv

Now its http://cms.gm.tv/ and this time all the links work without typing in the url change. Wonder why its been kept Confused

I am extremely intrigued with the new website backgronud. It features some graphical silhouettes of London landmarks, perhaps relecting what you would see out of their studio? I wonder if they will take this approach into the main program in the new year?

or maybe its just a background portraying a sunrise over London which is what the studio is already based on?

What have they done with the studio? Isn't the point of having windows on this programme, is to see the day... break? I know its pitch black in the winter, but they've gone too far trying the block out the windows.

Those panels behind the presenters used to look nice transparent, now they just look tacky. Plus they have almost ditched the purple colour scheme in the studio, and turned them all nasty yellow. There is now too much yellow.

Surely they could light up the balcony behind them - or just accept the darkness. Never thought about it at the time, but I wonder if the light was a reason The Big Breakfast often moved the main presenting chairs from one end of the living room to the other.

They should really have gone for an NBC Today-type set up, where the anchors are at the desk in front of a blue background for the first part of the programme, and then move to a desk-bound view of the windows.

You know how they darken the windows for music performances, couldn't they do that when its dark then light up the windows a colour instead of blocking them up with extra panels. At least they would keep the shape of the studio. ( A little like the old Five News studio shining an image on glass panels but instead just using light effects).
