I like it as it's a bit of everything and I think people are rude to say I am only likeing so I can say its crap on facebook I love it

The people on it's facebook page are being very immature and critical though, I've just been reading it.

It's just typical facebook, commenting on something they know nothing about, expecting ITV to turn around and go "ah yes, you sir calling people a w*nker, you seem to know what you like, and for you and you alone, GMTV is returning!".

It seems there's a new introduction the newsreaders have to use for the regional news:- "Your local travel and weather is less than a minute away, first the Daybreak headlines here in the <insert region name> region" - or slight variations on this.

Which means that sentence seems to go on forever in the 'Tyne Tees and Border' region!

The Facebook group is making me laugh out loud. The people insist GMTV was better than Daybreak and it just isn't true. Daybreak was very good this morning and I think it had a great mix of news and fun - which is needed on a morning programme IMO.

I think the Facebook people are very very sentimental towards GMTV, so the fact its been axed is annoying them. In the next few weeks and months I can see this dying down - once stars like Alexandra Burke tomorrow, for example, start appearing on the show, fans will want to see them so will watch Daybreak. GMTV fans who say they will switch to BBC Breakfast will find that Breakfast is a vastly different show, and if they loved GMTV, they will hate Breakfast! Laughing

I just like how when someone gives the slighest positive comment, or try and be constructive, they get abused! Laughing

The benefits of the competitions far outweigh the costs though.

But surely they were one of the factors which in the end led to GMTV's demise.

The poor management of them was, but premium rate phone competitions survived on other programmes.

So, Jeff Wayne composed the TV-AM music and David Arch composed the GM-TV music.
Anyone know who has composed the new Daybreak music please?

Controversial: the shot of the Clifton Suspension Bridge was used on Daybreak: The West Country Today – I bet the folk of Devon and Cornwall loved that!

Much prefer the honesty of that, rather than the fabrication of the Brunel and Tamar Bridges shot used in the pre break Westcountry Tonight segment.

Well, it was better than GMTV. But it was still drivvel.

I caught a reasonable few snippets of it and didn't think much.

The titles are fine, they're nice, but the music just ends so clunkily. Why can't it go into a nice bed for the studio shot?

The swooping shots btw were so amateurish looking. Like a child playing aeroplanes with the camera. The wobble, mised with the fact that studio has a VERY low lighting grid made it look sub RI:SE #2 in terms of studio quality.

That table is more and more shocking every time you look at it. Is it from IKEA?

As for them two, I thought he was going to fall off his chair looking at the autocue and every time she opened her mouth I felt braincells dying. Which is odd because she never came over as that gormless on the One Show.

Oh and how about that Tony Blair interview eh? Not only did we have the Richard Madley / Bill Clinton style "oh I know what it's like" comment from Adrian but the whole thing was so fecking lightweight you'd think Fiona "I love all my chums in the Labour party" Phillips was doing it.

In fact the only thing I found tolerable was Lorraine because her show is practically identical and didn't have such lofty expectations as Daybreak was putting out.

Shame really.

Eamonn's interview on Sky News with Mr. Blair wasn't much better. I actually thought Adrian was great with the interview, really told him at the start. Silly question from Christine though, as expected.
