An extra regional bulletin has been scheduled for 0645 tomorrow.

Source: ITV Central News Facebook.

I don't understand why they don't have regional bulletins every 30mins the same as BBC Breakfast, perhaps this is a move towards that.

I would've thought that the production team would welcome even more breaks in the live presentation from the London studio. Chiles & Bleakley seem to do better when they only have 3-4 minute segments to fill before throwing to either a report, regional news, commercial break or another live reporter in the studio.

That may be unfair, as I'm sure BBC Breakfast is broken down into small enough segments to allow the presenters to prepare 'off camera' as much as possible. However, it just seems to me that the presense of the main presenters on Daybreak is rather less than on the BBC.

Interesting it's the first hour getting this extra bulletin and I assume for one day?
Are we going for a newshour idea, with more news before softening at 7am, like GMTV did a few years ago.
The presenters have a smaller hour to fill than BBC Breakfast;

BBC Breakfast presenters actually read the news, where as Daybreak has a newsreader.

BBC Breakfast are on the sofa more with the sports presenter (so they chat) than Daybreaks Sports desk takes the viewers away from the main two.

BBC Breakfast when they do showbiz have the main two present, however Daybreak has a dedicated showbiz presenter/reporter.

BBC Breakfast does have 2 regional news opt-outs but Daybreak has one per hour.

On top of all that remember the commercial breaks make all the difference. A break is about 3mins.
And also Daybreak is shorter by 45mins than BBC Breakfast

I think after The Guardian interview, Adrian and Christine feel a bit more relaxed about the show - they've said what they have to say now they're willing to move on and hope the show gets stronger. On this mornings show they both seemed very friendly and Adrian made fewer stammers and stutters. The content seemed pretty good aswell, much more seemed to be packed in, especially compared to the first show.

I see the Facebook fan page is still being spammed with 'BRING BACK GMTV!' campaigns, with one user suggesting 'sources' have told him GMTV will be back next year... it seems ridiculous to even suggest that. While there may be tweaks to Daybeak in the new year, I very much doubt they'd bring back GMTV - especially since the ratings for Daybreak have been higher than GMTV's in the last few weeks (average of 800,000, yesterday 900,000)

One more thing... Lucy Verasamy. Does anyone else feel that she's became very nervous since Daybreak? I can't remember her ever being like this on Sky News. Over the last few weeks she's been better but once again this morning she seemed very nervous, you could hear her nerves in her voice.

Something wasn't right, because Adrian & Christine were laughing and handed over to Lucy, Lucy was silent and went straight into the forecast but the bit before the sponsor it didn't come across very well, just wasn't right. GMTV weather presenters had that spot on, and Kirsty usually does it well.

EDIT: unless she had just turned up and hadn't been in the studio before hand!?

In the end, 'ITV Breakfast Ltd' are never going to beat BBC Breakfast in the ratings for the simple reasons:

*They don't have the 7-day audience reach.
*They don't have the brand of a recognised company.
*BBC Licence Payers OBJECT to their home-grown 'stars' being stolen. (Not that I agree with the definition)

As a humble viewer, I do find that I'm turning over to Daybreak more and more. OMG!!!

I like the set now, I like the chemistry, and I'm even liking "cool before school"

Dare I say it, I'm finding it an upmarket Big Breakfast cross, between BBC Breakfast and Sunrise!

I'll be thown out of the TV forum for such blasphemy :-O!!!

Daybreak website received an update.

Anyone else wondering what is the reason for the change in background image to the new site? Is this what they plan on carrying onto the screen? It reminds me of the ITV Day brand with a couple of random purple swirls (obviously to incorporate the colouring of the logo).

And also remind me of these titles from The Morning Show (I believe it's their version of This Morning).

Spot on from them adding an extra Regional bulletin at 6.45. I think an extra at 6.45 and 7.45 should happen all the time to be honest... Still feel especially now 2 mins or so isn't long enough.
