I think the image is correct, just it's been saved with the wrong colour profile information, as here it is bright purple on Firefox (which supports colour profiles) and the normal deep purple on IE9 (which does not).

I'm using Firefox, and it looks like a blue background to me, Orry.

Denise Welch covering for Lorraine this morning, not my fave or the best cover presenter they've had on. She's an actress not a presenter and it just didn't work well for her. I will admit she wasn't as bad as Sharon Osbourne though.

She was funny this morning was Denzy. Full of innuendo and kept f**king up!

drag it from firefox onto your desktop and it'll turn purple. it's a colour profile problem.

The same occurs on TVForum in firefox due to the header / main background having mismatching colour profiles. And indeed the same happened on Metropol for ages until i worked out what was wrong. It's a very irritating issue

Although I did not see Sharons. Denise was okay and warmed to the audience but shes not a presenter and it felt quite strange and odd at times.

Would love to see Penny Smith covering Loraine or Nina Hossain again.

Interesting interview with Chiles and Bleakly in the Guardian today:

Am I the only one that like the programme ending at 8:30 with a proper close, whether it be pan out with everyone on the sofa or the highlights of the day? I think it worked better to end it, and begin Lorraine as a fresh programme on the other side of the adverts.

Would it work linking up to leaving the link up to Lorraine until around 8:25, then come back for the weather & to end the programme?

They already link upto Lorraine after the news at 8am. So it would be pointless to do it again 10mins later, but they could move it.

I too, which I have previously said, liked the 8.30 highlights and close, (I just liked the hearing the theme music Laughing )which matched up with what was said in the summer. Both programmes would be separate. Well the graphics are the same style, they use Daybreak News and they don't close one programme for another to open. They 'hand over' the morning to Lorraine.

That is what I meant, to delay the preview of Lorraine until later in the programme.
I know that the two programmes are connected by the ITV Breakfast production arm, but I just preferred to see them as two separate shows.

Plus the closing music is lovely.

Has any insider got any idea on what they are going to be doing for Christmas?
Will they bother with any change to the music or titles (I hope so), and will they dig up the GMTV forest and replace the lit screens with a plethora or Christmas Trees?

It'll be interesting to see what they do for the Christmas Holidays. Will Adrian & Christine continue to host, will Kate & Dan take helm again, and will they even air on the week beginning the 27th.
Surely the best thing would be to give Lorraine a week off & extend Daybreak to 9:25 for a week instead of having fill in presenters as many will be off work & getting up later, but not having to leave the house so will be able to properly watch the programme. They should even start it as early as Christmas Eve. It may not be GMTV in name, but if its a similar production team, will there be a mass sing song &/or Wizard playing??

On another note. My head seems to prefer Kate & Dan, is that just because Kate has done GMTV for years and seems familiar? Though Kate seems far more relaxed, pleasant and entertaining than Adrian, Christine & Dan.
This odd way of them having Kate & Dan for Wed & Thurs with Adrian & Christine on air on the Fri makes it seem as though A&C are the relief presenters.

I rather like the paper review they have. The banter comes across as friendly but then because they're talking about the morning's news, its also 'newsy'. Great mix between the GMTV style and Breakfast I think.

Also I noticed this morning they've constructed another wooden wall to the left hand side of the set, covering some of the window up. It does look more cosy actually.

I really like this. It's taken them a while to get there, but I think they've now finally got a set that makes the most of the great view outside - but has enough warmth and colour inside that it doesn't live or die by what the weather and light conditions are like.

I'll definitely be interested to see what they do for Christmas. The space in the corner between the big clock and the screens would probably be a good place to put a tree.

I agree with that. In a way I suppose it follows the This Morning scenario, where by they initially started with just windows on the Albert Dock, and again with the move to London. They've got the set to a homely feel even if their windows show dark days in the winter.

Daybreak obviously has a bit more window space, but like you say they have made the most of the great view without cluttering too much and compromising the whole point of using that studio.
Imagine how great the show will look in the summer months when its bright daylight when the programme begins at 6am.

I've just read through that Daybreak article from the Guardian - man does Chiles swear.

It's a very interesting piece, and I imagine one of the first to say that the programme is steadily improving in terms of ratings.

I've recently watched the first programme back, and I'm with them in thinking that it was a good programme. They were happy, they were adlibbing, they were enjoying themselves. Of course the bad press would have got to them & things began to feel tightly controlled. Things then changed a lot without giving time to settle in. I still prefer the idea of 5-a-day giving 4 headlines & the weather rather than the 2 headlines that they have now. But I feel that its only now that everyone involved are starting to relax and to enjoy it more, I suppose the increasing ratings will be helping.

It will be interesting to see where the programme goes from here, but I don't think that much more needs changing. The extra headlines in the news works. The newspaper review works, and so do the quirky things like cool before school. Interaction between the various presenters could be welcomed more, though I think its mainly with Tasmin, I feel like she's sat on the edge of the room, and no one knows she's there. Though I suppose this is put across as GMTV used to throw very well to the news, especially when Penny was reading.

Just read the interview in the Guardian and even though Adrian sweared a lot , The point they were getting across was right I think after the hounding it's been given off the press the show is finally becoming established and they have not made any significant changes in the last few weeks as such making the viewer able to become more familiar with the show. The chemistry between Adiran and Christine seems to be back. Tasmin has improved a lot and now the news is a lot more detailed and she's fine for presenting the news and is great with the rest of the team. Dan seems a lot better than he was at GMTV the sports updates are a lot more detailed than they were and even a bit better than the breakfast. Lucy seems settled now and Kirsty is also warming. Kates more watchable and Steve is also a great addition.

In regards to content It seems to have got just the right mix between news and entertainment the News is a lot more detailed and the reports a lot better they seem to have good interviews about human intrest items the only thing I think is under used is Phil Rae Smith he need's to be given more reporting time than just the occasional live Piece or Letters from the public being read Out.

I like the panels and the extra wall and theres something for everyone I think the shows great and Is now better than breakfast I also like the In the mix part .

Intrested to see what they do in the run up to christmas if Adrian and Christine are having some time off theres Kate and Dan but I would also like to see John and Tasmin be given a chance to front the main show .
