Daybreak - the launch onwards

Meanwhile I thought the show was one of the best so far this morning ive noticed they've now put the sport after the 7:30 news with Tasmin.

That's so rich I may slip into a diabetic coma.

Found this mornings programme very good - kept on top of the news about the A380. They've improved a lot this past week, although a lot can still be tweaked!

Oh, and with the titles, I notice they use the long titles for every TOTH now, not just the 6am.

I saw it on Tuesday morning and thought it didn't seem as bad as earlier occasions. It was the morning of the gas explosion at a residential property, and I thought they handled it OK though Breakfast were far more detailled even at the early stages. (It didn't help that some of the news broke while moving from Daybreak to Lorraine, though).

On another note, it seemed rather odd Daybreak not really finishing and handing straight to Lorraine. They hand to Lorraine, who says hi back and says what's coming up on her show but graphics and branding are all Lorraine, even into the commercials, which I find a little odd. For trying to keep viewers through to Lorraine it makes sense, but felt odd to me.

I'm in school (Or on the bus anyway) when Daybreak finishes, so I never get to see the junction to Lorraine. I've never even watched Lorraine! I rather liked the highlights package Daybreak used at the end for the first few programmes. Although, I found the content of the highlight package a bit crap (Using a selection of shots, rather than any of the content from the show) - the idea behind it, a recap of the morning, was a good one.

I'm still not warming to the Daybreak graphics though. I've used designs like that using PowerPoint for when I had to make a news report as a project in school.

Also Back To Daybreak does anyone else think it's a bit pointless removing all the panels after the sun comes out I reckon they should stick with them until the summer all the way through.

They use 2 panels each side by the time the sun is out, yes? Something like that. The panels are only there so we don't have to see black on the window shots. By the time the morning is pitch black through most of the show, the panels will stay there longer.

Also, and thanks for reminding me Gino, anyone notice the panels flickering a lot yesterday? I don't know if they're changing colour or actually going off?
