There are many, many reasons for that, editorially, technically and managerially. Unsurprisingly, it's much easier to be a sedentary viewer on the sofa pointing out "bad points" than it is to actually put a television programme together...

Apparently its rather easy to patronise too.

Yep - though very difficult not to when such a ridiculous statement is made...

Is this the point to wheel out this old chestnut again?

Would somebody like to explain for the last few pages it has been full of unrelated daybreak posts what was first attended as a joke turned firstly with smarmy comments about my writing which was jus immature and as you can see here I can type / write . then we had some link to a post were some member has posted his mock of television schedule an also some thought of comment about the rota thread.

Now back to the actual daybreak it seems they’ve replaced the 5-a day feature with what they used to do on Gmtv give you the headlines , also I think they need they need a more constructed schedule as one day we can turn in and see news reports and another a music performance as another forum user said if you turn on BBC Breakfast you get news , weather and local news in any given half an hour.

Daniel, never mind all that. THIS is the big news!! Big Lozza is gonna save the doomed programme by being promoted to the helm. Not before time, in my opinion. The woman is a legend and deserves to be in a far more prominent role on television. If I had my way, she would also be presenting Panorama too.

Who needs chemistry when you've got Big Lozza?

I wish someone would get Tasmin to tone down her make up. She was bad at the BBC as well. Shes supposed to be reading the news and looking formal. Not like shes come off a catwalk.

This was their big Robbie show as well! I'm sure Daybreak actually got its lowest ratings a couple of weeks ago (on the Friday when A +C came back after 2 days off).

I've been reading a lot about Breakfast's "soaring" ratings when in reality hasn't it been averaging 1.4m for a while now? So the viewers deserting Daybreak don't appear to be migrating to the beeb.

I guess "...whilst BBC Breakfast viewing figures remained at 1.4m" sensationalist story does not make.

And don't forget the article is written by The Sun whose parent owns a rival tv news channel.
In fact BBC viewing figures are pretty much what they were a year ago and they've not gained at DB's expense.
Sky News probably hopes this is good for them.

So if Breakfast's ratings haven't really risen, have Sunrise's? If not, did all those people just disappear, rather than move channel?
