Someone called Gavin on the sports, and prefer how they've done it, with Dan throwing over from the sofa, without the chat of Adrian and Dan.

Kirsty's on the weather, and they've a long flower planter running behind the sofa the guest sits on.

They also appeared to have ditch Daybreakers in favour of, The Daily Daybreaker, same NaT theme, except no voting, and only one.

Gavin used to work as a reporter and presenter on newsround/ sportsround before moving on to a sport presenter post on the BBC Newschannel and becoming a reporter on BBC Breakfast, and is now a news correspondent for Daybreak.

Daybreaker - I noticed that to but Its not the Daily Daybreaker its just Daybreaker .

Also its starting to turn in to GMTV again with the stupid flowers , the advertisements for people coming on , these little tip things such as the history one and having stupid feature things for the competition .

I liked the Darlek feature. Laughing

It changed to "Daybreaker" a few days ago now. With the original sting sans the "s" on the end.

Today, though it had a brand new sting. A rotating globe with "The Daily Daybreaker" spinning around it.

Are they still doing the '5-a-day' gimmick, or has that been ditched along with the other cheesy elements?

I watched for the first time today - for 1 minute. Without knowing one iota of detail of its ratings fortunes I hasten to add, this has disaster written all over it. The golden rule of breakfast television is bimbos don't work . Their female hosts - the main host, news, weather - are all clones from the supermodel cookie-cutter. I am pretty gobsmacked that ITV could be so clueless in taking this direction. It is not going to work. Also, the set at 6am looks incredibly dark and dull.

Well this morning really feels like GMTV, the old gang back in charge. Good to see Cordelia back on the news.

Umm - did you *actually* watch it this morning? Because I'm not sure I'd describe Kate Garraway, Cordelia Somethingorother and Kirsty McCabe in that way.

Not sure how Kate Garraway could be called a bimbo with about 20 years journalistic experience including senior news presenters at Sky, BBC News 24 and ITV Regional News?

Weather girl is a trained meteorologist from the BBC/Met Office?

No, thankfully the 5 a day is still there - I think it's a great little gimmick. A bit of cheese and variation is great!

I've just been reading on another forum about a few rumours going around today suggesting Adrian and Christine will only present Daybreak until the end of the year.

If this is true, I'd say it was a bad move. In my opinion, the only person they need to get rid of is Adrian - I can't warm to him and he isn't really very good reading the autocue. I still think they should try out Christine and Dan - I think they'd be a great team, and it could make people warm to her more if she isn't seen as Adrian's other half.

Also, Daybreak's Twitter just said 'Tune in on Monday for a big showbiz announcement' - I'm probably just looking too much into this, but I think it may be connected to Adrian or Christine somehow. Thinking back a few months, there were reports Christine will get The X Factor host job, so maybe its connected to that?

Unfortunate moment this morning, a bird on the 'Something Cool Before The Kids Go To School' section decided to fly up onto the rafters of the studio, which wouldn't come down.

They ended up cutting to a competition ad, when that finished Christine and Kate had the entertainment talk in the green room and Kirsty did the weather from there too - all back to normal at the 8am TOTH.

Kirsty only did the weather from the green room because 4 poofs and a piano were by the weather screen. They have also been doing the entertainment news from the green room this week, not quite sure what the point is, all it shows is a different view of London.
