If Adrian is unable to present - why take Christine off screen. Can't Dan present with Christine? It will be nice to have Kate on screen but I don't understand why ITV have to have Adrian AND Christine or neither?!

I suppose ITV feel that having Christine without Adrian would be liking having Ant without Dec (I.e. it will never happen!)

Did Christine ever present The One Show without Adrian (or vice-versa)?

Yep. Christine had an extended weekend off, I seem to recall, with Lucy Siegle covering for her. Adrian was still there.

I doubt Christine will complain though - she gets two lie-ins!

Interesting. All fine when they know one of them will be off doing other ITV things. What happens when one falls ill last minute. "Sorry Christine he's phoned in sick, so you'll have to go home now and Kate will fill in"

She was only there for 24 hours, she was back o Daybreak Monday.

Maybe the presenter who isn't poorly can present on their own. I think both Adrian Chiles and Christine Bleakley have presented The One Show without a co-presenter in the past. I know Daybreak is a bit longer than half an hour but they also have dedicated news, sport and weather presenters to help and I'm sure they could show the competition or other VTs a few extra times to make it an easier morning for them. I remember Lisa Rodgers once presented The Big Breakfast on her jack when Johnny Vaughan put his back out at the last minute and that was probably a more complicated programme.

That was the week Denise was supposed to return but her return got pushed back by one week while Johnny was recovering.
