As far as I know the sustaining feed is the montage of break stings that is shown on the studio monitors. By the looks of what happened on Meridian, they opted but had some problem getting the studio on air so just showed their plasma graphic? Possibly weren't expecting the opt at that time.
Wonder what has happened to the '' Lorraine'' filmed in front of a live studio audience that was mentioned in ITV press releases etc ?
Can any members shed any light on this...
Was that ever on press releases? I could be wrong but wasn't that just early "insider" info, perhaps confusing the fact it was coming from the LW studio which would have audience seating in place already?
They are running out of content this morning on the programme, they are currently padding out the programme. We have just had the 6.45 regional news at 6.36.
I think that was because they missed out on a weather bulletin. First one today was at 6:55.
Here is the moment when they opted. I thought when the music kicked in again we were going to get to see/hear the sustaining feed but it seems that Meridian managed to opt out but had Daybreak on a slight delay on their feed so we just heard the end of the music again before they went to their slide.

The problem for me is although the GMTV brand is gone its being taken over by ITV Breakfast and in essence it's the same behind the scenes operation just a different look show
Absolutely wrong it is a completely new management structure, every single member of the management team is new from Deputy Editor to Head of Programmes. The behind the scenes operation is made up of a very skilled and experienced team of journalists, creative staff and technical staff who have worked on numerous programmes during their careers and can (and have) adapt to any style of programming the management want to produce.
I am bias towards Daybreak/Lorraine for obvious reasons but I do have enough experience to realise that things take time to settle in and am big enough to admit that some things need addressing and I'm sure that will happen.
So is there any of the behind the scenes staff remaining from GMTV?
My understanding is that a large proportion of the off-screen staff (production team and crew) working on Daybreak also worked on GMTV.
Correct but they can and have adapted to the new programme.

Well, what can I say but I hope that Daybreak isn't going all GMTV on us already noticed this morning that yellow flowers were being used in a couple of places on the background shots in the studio
This is the kind of thing that GMTV used to like doing, before we know it they'll have potted plants around the studio & cushions on the sofa as well
Come on ITV your studio in the morning at breakfast time has never looked so good as it does at the moment please don't spoil this lovely bright fresh & modern studio
If you want to start adding all these touches you might as well of stayed in the old GMTV studio in The London Studios
It starts with flowers. Before long someone will suggest scatter cushions for the sofa, and maybe some nice shelf units with nick nacks (or is it knick knacks) on them... Or how about some nice curtains for those windows - they look terribly bare. Oh - and a nice rug...
