She's still got ITV at the end of her name, comeback or reserve maybe? And I thought Lucy was off to New York?

I was also thinking the same thing about Tasmin she will probably become a freelance TV presenter.

With regards to Lucy Watson she was originally meant to go to New York however, after Tasmin left she was made the main interim news presenter. She will probably remain as temporary newsreader until the September relaunch.

I think there arguments for and against ITN running the news output between 6am and 7am. However, I think in terms of content and format it is much better that the newshour is returning to give the new breakfast show whatever it will be called (we all know it will be called Good Morning TV Laughing ) a more newsier focus.

There is some good news Helen will be presenting Daybreak from next Wednesday alongside John Stapleton as Kate and Dan are on holiday. As I've said before I don't mind Kate or Dan but recently the whole show has become quite dull and repetitive. I've always's liked Helen and John's partnership especially when they last presented together on GMTV. The ratings will probably rise again Smile .

She doesn't have ITV at the end of her name anymore.

Tasmin would have been a better fit as the entertainment editor with Kate originally in the newsreader role. I very much doubt her career in the US will take off if she can't even properly crack the UK market and she'll be following Emma Crosby to Channel 5 should Matt join Daybreak/Good Morning/whatever the new show will be called.

Good news about Helen presenting again soon, and completely agree that it gets repetitive and boring. Using This Morning as an example, I like Holly & Phil a lot but Eamonn & Ruth are a great change on a Friday, and I particularly like Eamonn's sarcastic and cynical approach. It just makes a good change and something Daybreak should have continuted doing after Adrian & Christine left- they could be using the opportunity to find a new male host and get them used to the audience.

can the purple light boxes be changed colour behind the news desk?-ex sport desk area?

They aren't light boxes, they are purple fronted perspex panels which are back lit. No changes will happen to the current set now.

when did tasmin and keir present daybreak during the riots??

they didnt, it was just a test to see if they worked well together to be the main presenters for the show.

It was actually practise for Kier; Kate or Christine weren't available.

So Cross Channel, if Daybreak (or whatever the new show may be called) is moving into Lorraine's studio, does that also mean that Loose Women will be moving? Or are they building a huge multi-purpose set?

I hope the new set isn't too much in the style of GMTV, it could be reminiscent of it yet I really hope we don't see the same generic set which GMTV always had (fake window panes, London backdrop, red sofa, news desk on the right) ...they could build a nice set in the space they're getting, lets hope its something good.

Having said that, I'm betting ITV won't be putting as much money into this 'relaunch' as they did into Daybreak.

Don't think they are lightboxes. They are lit with LED's and can change colour (as can most of the set panels). They changed to a light blue not so long ago before changing back.

Then again this could be wrong and I may simply be loosing my mind....ho hum.

If you are referring to the panels behind the news presenter and the old sport area; they are purple perspex panels which are back lit form the bottom and top of each panel with LED lights, the only colour range that works is blue or purple. Yellow and red have been tried and end up looking muddy because of the purple panel. Pink worked once for a valentine 'Lobb Love Lounge' IIRC.

No LW will be in there but the set will truck in and out.

Will it be the same set but re-lit and re-dressed for each show? Like the time when Lorraine came from 7 and they re-lit the whole set in pink?
