Couches don't have talent, Stu. They're full of stuffing and wrapped in expensive fabric.

Ditto producers.

I was referring to Lorraine as the talent, a phrase you also use to describe artistes.

Studio 3...

Think BIG

Thank you for the information.

The move to Studio 3 really raises the question did ITV waste so much money trying to create a live riverside view of London.

Remember, before the launch of Daybreak, ITV spent £1.5 million revamping Studio 7 to find that it was too dark in the early mornings in the autumn. Even now, they could raise the blinds earlier and remove the LED screen TV yet most of the live paronamic view is covered during the broadcast.

Before, they move to Studio 3, surely they will have to revamp it. Does that mean that Lorraine's slot will have to broadcast from Studio 7 like they did last year.

I think Helen Fospero should be given a significant role in any re-launch. She is professional and popular amongst viewers.

It will be interesting to see what happen's over the summer.

By picking Lorraine it seems to me that Daybreak plans to give up chasing the general audience in the morning and focus exclusively on the Housewives market which commercially makes much more sense than fighting for the General audience which Daybreak was originally created to do.
Sadly I suspect Daybreak will become even more celeb obsessed and Pinker Crying or Very sad

The whole point of Daybreak was the London skyline. If they're dropping that, moving to the same studio as Lorraine and bringing back the newshour, is there much point in keeping such a negative brand as 'Daybreak'? Although it did have its troubles, if that's the route they're going down, then they should just rename it back to GMTV because it will be that in all but name. With that they might get a bit of interest in the relaunch because its an established brand and viewers knew what they were getting with GMTV, whereas Daybreak is allover the place. Its good that studio 3 will presumably be finally converting to HD, but if it's a big set then I do wonder where that leaves Loose Women. Their current set would look brilliant if the show returned to studio 7, and they wouldn't have the daylight issues either.

I'm interested to see how this all pans out even though its just like 2010 allover again, only reversing the process. I'll be amazed if they don't have Helen Fospero presenting the newshour and reading the news given her presence across ITV Breakfast in previous months. I'm also interested to see how they approach the show when Lorraine is off and whether they have someone doing 6-8.30 or 7-9.25, and whether the 'Lorraine' brand will be dropped. I highly doubt she'll be working beyond a Wednesday after the first week or so.

Hope its something like CBS This Morning with the modern set, or like three separate sets for Newshour, 7:00 to 8:35/9:25 and the old Lorraine set! Realy bad diagram but like this? <^> ? with the left arrow being the Newshour, Middle being 'today' and the left arrow being Lorraine!

I think ITV should aim for the cynics market and rename the show Trollop - so we could have a voiceover saying "You're watching Trollop Lorraine Kelly... I mean with Lorraine Kelly".
