I thought there was 'supposed' to be an anouncement about changes to Daybreak yesterday ?

I think people should stop getting their hopes up. There is going to be no forseeable changes for Daybreak in the near future, any changes will probably happen in Summer at earliest.

Like I said on Sunday there will be no new show until the first Monday in September.. There may be announcements but the new dhow will not be happening untill September.. Six months of the curret show

pcampbell830 knows nothing. The relaunch will be in late April/early May

Nah don't think it will be September, seems far to long to to leave it as it is in it's current format. If anything it could happen when ITV rebrand the channels in the Autumn.

I question the logistical nous of a person who displays "you" as "u" yet clearly has the time and function to grant "are" full representation.

In summary, *raspberry*. State your sources or, ahem, kindly gtfo.

I think Daybreak and Lorraine should be a bit more split! Like at the Daybreak TOH they say what coming up on Lorraine, I think two live link would be be enough? AT like 7.00 and 7.45? and also the straight handover at 8.30 isn't right, should close Daybreak should close with a recap in the bed of the close theme then back to the studio for the final build up then the handheld/jib close and an end board. After a break (or even straight after the endboard) Lorraine starts up in their usual way! Also news and weather updates in Lorraine should come from her studio!

Errrrr why?

The start of Lorraine seems like an extra segment of Daybreak up until the first ad break

I agree. I thought the whole point of the new titles were that Daybreak and Lorraine are separate shows. However the current handover is still like how it was on GMTV/GMTV with Lorraine. It worked well when Daybreak first launched as they closed the show properly, i.e. production slide at the end, then a promo for Lorraine. Surely in a way the Lorraine brand is being damaged by being linked in so much with Daybreak?

Exactly what I mean! They need Daybreak to properly close, launch into a VT promo, live or recorded studio one then into and ad break before the show starts!

Alright then, Daybreak director. Y'know, I was about to agree with you with the whole Daybreak should end and then Lorraine starts (like when Daybreak first started), but then you started crowing on about buildup (which, forgive me if I'm thick - I still don't understand what this is) and jibs and jib shots and endboards and then breaks and then Lorraine and recaps in the bed of the TOTH of the close of what's coming up in Lorraine during the endcap... Mad

What's so hard about "How it was when it first started"? You've made something simple, sound so complex.

Plus, why have the news and weather updates from the Lorraine studio when they work fine from Studio 7? There isn't anywhere to present a news bulletin (it would look so wrong from Studio 3 because it's so cosy), and not really anywhere to present the weather. OH I KNOW! LETS GET LUCY INTO THE LORRAINE STUDIO, AND PRESENT NEXT TO THE FRIGGIN' FAKE TOASTER THAT IS ACTUALLY A PRINTER SO HALFWAY THROUGH THE BULLETIN... BOOM! HER SCRIPTS POP UP!

As for a monitor for the news, surely they can fit one of those into the oven?

I don't see why Lorraine's News updates need to come from her studio? Maybe it might be an idea to have a mini TOTH where Lorraine/ Host just gives us a time check, update on the headlines, weather and what's still to come. But I do agree that they should keep them separate like play a theme and have a close to the programme, before Lorraine start!
