I wish Daybreak will hurry up and announce who the new presenters are going to be (if there is indeed going to be a change). I am getting fed up with Kate each morning. She has a smug patronising way of presenting. Dan should stick to sport.

Yep 100% agree....Kate is ok (but not everyday) and Dan is just so out of his depth! The item this morning when the guy proposed to his sick wife - Dan's reaction was cringeworthy toe curling!!!

This is exactly what Daybreak doesn't need, some producer from Five News joining the show. In future please post the exact link to the tweet.

How rude!

Hardly rude. I just think it would be easier if the actual link to the tweet had been posted, it took me a while to find the tweet in question.

Perhaps the rudeness referred to wasn't about the Twitter link, but your comments regarding the producer. Unless you know the person in question and/or are happy that you're not defaming their character or credentials on a public forum, perhaps you should keep your comments to factually-based constructive criticism of the programme and not of named individuals?

Tend to agree normally with that sort of comment, but when the product (Five News) has been so notoriously bad, with it's news values and editorial decisions, reluctantly anyone associated with it's production tends to get criticised for not challenging these values and decisions. Their lack of challenge leads to this kind of response.

This in turn shows a lack of understanding as to how news is produced. The client gets what the client wants in terms of look, set, graphics, editorial stance, presenters, etc. The idea that editorial or technical staff are somehow personally 'tainted' with these channel-led decisions is ridiculous. And to imply on a public internet forum that a very capable named individual is somehow permanently steeped in the values and quality of one channel and therefore not suitable for another programme is at best wrong, and at worst offensive. Journalists and production staff move between very different types of programming all the time. Put simply, imagine it was you named in that post.

I would hope that if I disagreed with the policy of the employer, especially over such critical issues as the news Agenda, that I would walk. Easy enough said I lnow, but anyone involved in a production has to be in agreement with it's values. By identification with a product you get tainted.

It's by no means unusual to express these views, indeed it's quite common.

Looking at this showreel of Tasmin and it appears she presented with Kier Simmons, I never realised this. The clock says 9:43 though, can anyone confirm that this happened?

Coult they have been trying her out after-hours, with a view to potentially using her as a stand-in one day?

Or perhaps to see how well her and Kier would work out as a presenting team?

It may only be a few seconds, but she doesn't present that badly. Maybe they should have given her a go in the main role.

For those that don't know where Lorraine is, she has had an accident whilst horse riding.

I agree it was only a few second's but she didn't present that badly maybe they should have given her the opportunity to present the programme like they did with Lucy Watson. There is some good news Helen Fospero confirmed on twitter that she's presenting Daybreak alongside Dan tommorrow. On Monday, John Stapleton will present alongside Kate. I suspect the ratings will rise. Laughing
