There's no new presenters for atleast another 2 months and no set change has even been discussed at the daybreak studios. I really can't wait for new presenters because I can't stand Dan and Kate, they are so boring and I really wish they'd get A&C back because at least they could present a program.
Is there any news on the replacement presenters?
I have to say, I've grown quite used to Kate and Dan

They're already watching Daybreak though, isn't that somewhat an admission?
IIRC they overlay competition phone numbers on +1 channels.

Why would they do any of that? It would be like them giving up and admitting they are aiming the show at the stupidest viewers who can't understand the concept of a +1 channel. Who would want to watch a programme that they know is aimed at stupid people? Not even stupid people I bet.

I wonder whether they're planning to make their big changes at the same time BBC Breakfast moves to Salford: hoping to mop up any disaffected BBC viewers?
However, unless the BBC are intending to behave illogically, then there will be no change to the format of their programme. Hopefully all regular viewers will notice is a different set and the absence of Sian Williams as main presenter.
Hopefully it won't make any difference whether the show comes from W12, Salford or the Outer Hebredes.

Having stupid people watching your programme and actively aiming your programme at stupid people are two very different things. I'm sure some stupid people watch Breakfast too.
I can proudly say that I have never watched more than 5 minutes of Daybreak and I have certainly never watched it on ITV1+1 but don't most programmes/channels now just broadcast a catch-all caption about not to vote/enter if watching on +1 or on demand?

I wouldn't be surprised if that was an Ofcom requirement after the phone-competition scandal.
I don't think I have either. Whenever I've tried to watch it I've always come across a commercial break within about 5 minutes, so quickly returned to either BBC One or Sky News.

So who was doing the news this morning?
I can tolerate Kate although her patronising tone can get annoying. It's Dan who's the problem, totally not suited for handling delicate subjects and conducting interviews hence why Kate gets given all the gritty stuff. I would like to see John Stapleton back on the sofa but I don't think he would ever commit long term again.

In fairness Dan is out of his depth in the main presenting role. I don't necessarily blame him. His pedigree is in sports presenting with Sky Sports News and later with Sky News. He was good doing the sports with Daybreak and has found himself in a role I think he didn't really want.

Personally I think they should go back to how the show started at launch - was much better back then but the 'I hate anything new and different and love GMTV' brigade put them off and it's slowly morphed back into a slightly worse version of GMTV.
Isn't this set just so much better then the current one!

I'd absolutely agree with you. I suppose they did give it a few months before starting to make everything GMTV-esque. I still much preferred the modern, different type of programme back at launch.
As for that set, it does look a lot better IMO, the only problem is that throughout winter, it would be two purple sofas sat in front of a backdrop of black. It's not practical for the time that the programme airs.
Though they've gone in a direction of trying to block up the window view, with the second wall in the winter, but also by the giant red sofa.
I'd have liked to see them to experiment more with presentation from other parts of the set, similar to the September 2011 first hour.
