This week's 'Patience of a Saint Award' goes to whoever runs the @Daybreak Twitter account for the early morning ITV show. It seems their role consists mainly of explaining to viewers watching on ITV+1 why the clock is wrong:

I don't know why they don't just make the +1 DOG more opaque during Daybreak, or remove the clock somehow.

I thought it was common knowledge that time moves more slowly per earth-second of exposure to Daybreak?

No, you're thinking of rels. It's how The Doctor will beat The Daleks at the end of the next series of Doctor Who, by exposing the Daleks to a concentration of Daybreak.

Well no offence, but you'll get ****-all of that here.

I hope not. She's awful at doing the news. Comes across very cold and she always seems nervous.

Titles were cut this morning to just the buildup and they were sped up!

I don't know if it is just me... but I don't understand what this means? :S Like I don't when you try and explain your ITV Daybreak Mock (which really is just a showcase to show off what music you actually have while cunningly I've ripped from YouTube and have myself now). Was it just the short theme they used?

Don't think they can remove the clock on +1. The timeshift programme will be played out wherever the channels are, which is where they'd have to do the work (put a blank over the clock).

Is there a way the programme could be recorded and played on +1 without the clock? Like in the days of GMTV, when they posted a video on YouTube, the clock was removed. So however they did that, just on Daybreak?

On a funnier note, imagine the amount of people who've missed buses or been late for work because they watched on +1 Laughing I used to rely on the GMTV clock to catch the school bus back in the day. I was f****d the day the clock was off due to the power cut!

If they can't remove the clock, they could at least stick a patch over it so you can't see the incorrect time. It wouldn't even be that difficult to correct the clock on +1 by overlaying new hours over the top of it, but that might confuse the viewers even further.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tkprfuu5aow 0.08 onwards. As if they played it out too early, and they were played at a faster speed.

EDIT: Although on the itv Player it is the normal version. The online version is taken from the outgoing gallery feed rather than the feed that we get?

Why would they do any of that? It would be like them giving up and admitting they are aiming the show at the stupidest viewers who can't understand the concept of a +1 channel. Who would want to watch a programme that they know is aimed at stupid people? Not even stupid people I bet.
