I rather like the weather presenter being outside. It gives a different perspective on the weather.

Plus, it gives them a reason as to why the blinds are down if it's pitch black outside

Oh yes, because Daybreak viewers are so stupid they can't figure out when the sun has risen..... Rolling Eyes

There seems to be no logical explanation why the weather presenter is outside permanently. I never understood why Carol on Breakfast was in the Blue Peter garden so long, particularly after the 2006 refresh when the Barcos were introduced.

New deputy editor for Daybreak.

From Broadcast;

Quote:
Daybreak’s night editor Abi Donald has been promoted to deputy editor.

Donald has worked on Daybreak and its predecessor GMTV for more than 17 years and is thought to be one of the first internal members of staff to land a top job on the breakfast show since ITV took full control of the licence in 2009.

She replaces former deputy editor Paul Connolly, who stepped down last month, and will report directly into editor David Kermode.

In an internal email, Kermode added: “Abi has an incredibly strong pedigree, is highly respected, and knows the place inside out, which is really important. I’m really looking forward to working closely with her on the changes we have planned for the New Year.”

This overhaul is likely to include changes to Daybreak’s running order.
