There's no problem. It's just Lucy Watson reading the news. Turn it up a bit. That's what I have to do

Watched the film 'Morning Glory' the other night. A film on which ITV1's Daybreak is based.

They've just had a new editor. Why not a new producer?

I watched that film te other week. To get ratings up, they do strange things such as sending the weather man into a jet plane, on a rollercoaster and sky diving, that gets put onto YouTube, gets people noticing and then gets people watching. From what people say on here, they wouldn't like to see any of that sort & would prefer it to be news based. After watching the film, I'm not sure.

It does raise a point though, why in America is it the executive producer that has content control, where as here, supposedly similar to a magazine, it's the editor?

If Daybreak did become news based, it's presence would be questioned on here then because of 'BBC Breakfast' and 'Sunrise' all being news based. So there's not really a 'market' for another news breakfast show.

Daybreak needs to get it's balanced of news and being 'THE alternative' to watch of a morning. But it isn't. Hmm

I agree with you on that, many others on here may not.
Part of me thinks that I'd prefer to see lighter items even if it testing out rollercoasters etc. over seeing an interview with a reality contestant or somebody plugging a TV show.

Is any one else getting sick of putting Lucy/Kirsty outside for the weather? It's just doing it for the sake of it, seems pointless personally! I mean I usually only watch on and off between 7-8, but what do they use the video wall for (where the weather is presented from when indoors) basically daybreak is just GMTV (I'm aware this has been mentioned) but the whole idea of daybreak, in my eyes, was that it had a few different presentation areas but now seems to be all done from the sofa with the exception of the standing up at the TOTH.

On another note, whats happening with the news next week?

I think its been noted on here that since the return after Christmas, the programme has not used the sports desk/large plasma, or stage area.

I agree, it does look odd throwing them outside, especially in the dark mornings. Even if they're doing work on the studio, couldn't they erect a green screen each morning somewhere in the studio?

Well my understanding was that with the new larger studio than GMTV was that daybreak was going to use the bigger studio to there advatage? So I do hope this is just a bit of studio work and when it relaunches they go back to using these areas!

And the same with the weather, I hope they get back inside!

TLS7 (190 sqm) is smaller than TLS5 (211 sqm).

It's also an awkward shape.

Sorry my mistake!! Well I always thought that the reason for moving up to studio 7 was to use more studio space? On screen it seems bigger than GMTV!! But in any case Daybreak are not using there studio space as well as they could and I hope this for a limited time and not signs of what's to come!!
