I think they need to change their name and theme tune too, Daybreak is a tarnished brand name, changing the logo from purple to orange will not make a scrap of difference.
I absolutely love that theme tune, certainly used to wake me up in the mornings, as long as they replace it with something anything is better then their current effort.
I think the current Daybreak theme is great and, as it only accounts for about 90 seconds - opening, TOTHs, ad breaks and closing - it's hardly going to have a major impact on attracting viewers.
I do agree that a less 'funereal' colour than purple would help to establish the right mood for a breakfast programme, but apart from that the graphics package is absolutely fine... and an improvement on GMTV.
The set is also a winner, just needs to be a bit more cohesive... but losing the purple will help with that.
Hopefully this little tweak will be more editorial than cosmetic...
I'd like to see less time spent on competitions and 'coming up's.
Regional opt-outs moved to after the news at the top of the hour.
I like Dan, but he and Kate don't have the natural, easy chemistry that she shared with Ben Shephard, and breakfast telly works best when the presenters can cope with a serious news day as well as the light stuff and they are at ease with each other - fact.

I'm not sure if this has always been like that, but on the website when its loading theres a brief moment where you see an orange London skyline image- hard to describe but wonder if it's anything to do with the new look?

The purple is pretty much gone as it is, it's only really in the logo/odd bits of graphics now!
The set has been proven that it can look fantastic - the higher-backed red sofa they changed to and awful blinds during winter have all but ruined it sadly. I'm hoping they'll revert to a more minimalist studio as it was back in September 2010, eventually, as it looked excellent..
Totally agree about cutting out the competitons - less ad breaks too as they seem to be very close together. More interesting content and less GMTV-esque community helping/weight-loss/sad story rubbish.
I agree about the competitions. As soon as they come on I turn over to Sunrise. I find them long winded and boring.
More news and more human interest stories would make it a far better programme. It looks like the local news will now follow the main news on the hour, which is an improvement.
Now we want the presnters to be fun but not silly. Be able to adapt to serious news and fun stories with the right amount of preofessionalism.
