So more changes of set, colours, graphics and other useless stuff that doesn't really impact the content and thing they care most about - the ratings. They've been doing this pretty much since the show started and it brought them nothing. Set looked the best in it's original form anyway.
They got rid of A&C as if they were plague and it seems like they still have no clue about their replacement. Very well thought out.

Given what anoilyrag has said, I think Andrea Catherwood could be in the running. She's worked for ITV News and Channel 5, now for Bloomberg. She's been on This Morning doing the paper review, and recently was on Daybreak during 'In The Mix'. I genuinely think she has most of that criteria which was said above.

She failed miserably at presenting This Morning in the summer though.

Could Anoilyrag provide any insider information? It would end some of the speculation - is there going to be a relaunch in January? Have the new presenters been confirmed (behind the scenes), any other changes to the show?

Dan and Kate will continue for the forseable future. No official moves on new presenters. ITN is not taking over news. Graphics will be considerably less purple from January. Major changes will come in March. Lots of speculation about presenter combinations on this forum. Use the following criteria: Are they an established terrestrial name? Are they journalistic? Do they have experience of 2 1/2 hours of live television? Do they possess the life skills and experiences to empathise with parents and families?

Thank you Anoilyrag for the information.

I wasn't going to jump on the 'speculation' ship - but that description does sound like Kate Garraway!

I'd argue that it was more her co-host Paddy McGuiness who 'failed miserably' Laughing

And it depends what they're going for - even at it's dumbest Daybreak would be more news based than the lifestyle/entertainment based This Morning.

The Big Breakfast was very of its time... I don't think it would really be a good idea to bring it back.

Really looking forward to the January changes for Daybreak. The red sofa just doesn't work with the logo's purple. But I'm afraid they lose the identity the brand still has...

About Lorraine... If the audience is expecting Lorraine Kelly on her show "Lorraine", why don't have one and only one presenter to do it when Lorraine's out? It is a matter of consistency here. They play too much with hosts, seems like a carousel.

Agree about Lorraine. They really should just make Helen Fospero the permanent Friday presenter, it's not like she has any other jobs at the moment and she's the best at doing it. Either her or Nadia Sawahla I'd be happy with.

Could I please ask that this thread stops the endless speculation regarding presenter and asethetic changes as well as the constant 'we don't want Lorraine called Lorraine on Fridays!'? Please? Just for Christmas?

What anoilyrag has kindly told us is all we need to know for now until the changes take place.

There's always a place for Zig and Zag, More Tea Vicar and the Friday song! Very Happy
