If they are truly going to town with appealing to hassled mums, perhaps it might be an innovative idea to have two female anchors? For example, I think Helen and Kate together would be amazingly successful, that is if they had good content to work with! I remember enjoying the 2 shows during the GMTV era when Kate and Emma Crosby presented together. I don't think having 2 females would alienate male viewers either, especially if there was as a newsier focus.

Then again, I could be barking up completely the wrong tree here Razz

Aren't hassled mums meant to like a bit of 'eye-candy' in their morning programmes? The Turnbulls, the Lauers, etc...

I wouldn't class Bill Turnbull, Adrian Chiles and John Stapleton as eye candy. Razz

I didn't mention Stapleton or (more to the point) Chiles. And, also, are you a 'hassled mum'? Wink

God, Daybreak must be in a real state if Kate Garraway is considered their potential saviour.

She was absolutely awful as well. Very awkward and wooden. Her interview with the Strictly stars was bad enough already with statements and silly questions, never mind the time delay of the satellite link. Absolutely dire, but Lorraine's team will obviously put her on again though, because she's been on it before, and was no doubt worse. What about Helen Fospero, or indeed anyone whose job is actually TV presenting?

I didn't watch the show, just felt like searching about her.
Why don't they pick one , and only one, presenter to host Lorraine on fridays?

Exactly, consistency. One day a week for someone isn't bad at all. Jackie Brambles, Kate Thornton, someone who hasn't got any big commitment who can do it every Friday.

Just look at how many different people have presented the programme as a guest presenter since the beginning of Lorraine!

Gaynor Faye is an appalling presenter, on the two times I've seen her presenting Lorraine she was horrendous. Not suited to live TV one bit. I agree about them getting a permanent Friday presenter, Kate Garraway was confirmed at one point but that all changed when Adrian and Christine stopped doing Fridays so Kate couldn't do it any longer. I would love to see Helen Fospero get the position, she's normally doing the Friday show and I think she does a great job.

Lucy Watson is presenting the news this week and she seems very stiff and nervous this morning. She hasn't done the news or presented on the sofa for ages now so it doesn't come as much of a surprise.

Lucy Watson comes across so differently reading the news to when she's been on the sofa, and I don't understand why.
