I'm liking The Sun's little article claiming that Matt Barbet is in the frame. David Kermode is obviously very fond of him, and I do personally feel that he's a lot better than 5 News.
Maybe they could poach both him and ex-GMTV Emma? Another female presenter I thought of earlier too, Andrea Catherwood. I think she's a bit like Sian Williams. She has personality, authority, she's a mother, I really do think she'd fit into morning television quite well. Shes at Bloomberg at the moment though.

I still think Karin Giannone is a good candidate. She has no baggage.
And I still think Moira Stuart at the newsdesk would be a sure-fire viewer puller.
My ideas may be old fashioned, but super-duper new fangled combinations have just proven not to always work.

Andrea Benfield would work well alongside Matt and both are credible Journalists, not massive names but popular with their respective audiences.

Oh no, too Stepford Wives, no personality.
My choice would be Helen Fospero. Competent, friendly, warm, done Breakfast TV before, covers for Lorraine - ticks all the boxes.

When Anne Diamond got the job presenting TV-am she had only been a local TV reporter for three years.
The idea that presenters must be well-known and have loads of experience behind them is a fairly recent phenomenon which has meant we've been stuck with the same tired merry-go-round of presenters and newsreaders for the last half a decade.
If Adrian and Christine didn't prove that picking personalities off a shelf is a really lazy way of putting a show together then I don't know what does.
In my opinion, advertise the jobs properly, scour the country for hidden talent and bring some new faces to the fore. Viewers probably say they want someone they are familiar with but frankly the public don't really know what they want, and I think if given the chance, Daybreak viewers would actually appreciate getting to know a pair of brand new presenters and kind of making them their own, if that makes sense.
Just a few thoughts.
