How does Lorraine rate actually - it never seems to get reported and as Daybreak is reported separately the figures are hardly like for like with GMTV, which presumably was usually reported as the full 6.00-9.25am slot.

Yeah, we've been here before. I *believe* Lorraine averages around 1m whilst Daybreak hovers between 600-800k.

Whichever way you spin it, Daybreak is significantly down on GMTV in terms of audience share across the hours, accelerating the rate of decline. By contrast, (GMTV with) Lorraine has remained static pre and post relaunch.

I haven't had a Viewback survey in a good while. Anyone else?

Eamonn has just signed a 3 year deal with Sky News.

With him out the running, my bets are somewhat left field... Steve Dixon of Sky News perhaps reunited with Emma Crosby? There is method behind my madness as Mr Dixon has hinted at changes on his Twitter and does keep banging on about Daybreak as some of his former colleagues are there.

All this talk about Eamon Holmes being touted... I know, how about this? A really fat, miserable, ageing woman with a twenty-something hunkarama of a man - he should be blond, obviously, and wear really nice clothes and be linked in some way to Sienna Millar or one of those bints from the Saturdays.
What... ? Why not?
It works the other way around....

I would imagine Sky have clearly made him an offer he cannot refuse, and I imagine Eamonn knew exactly what he was doing when he made comments earlier in the week about him wanting to be asked, and expecting to be asked to host Daybreak - if Sky were eager to retain him then by making those comments they probably increased his offer considerably!

I've been a viewer since day 1, but I've never noticed before. Is there a sports bulletin in the 7am hour? Or even after 8am?

The Sun reporting that Keir Simmons or Matt Barbet (David Kermode's current colleague) are in the frame for Adrian's position. Matt would be my personal choice - more personality than Keir!

Not sure about 7am hour, but there's no sport after 8am, it's all celebs and fluff.

Confirmation of the worst kept secret in broadcasting.

Adrian Chiles and Christine Bleakley to focus on ITV1 peak time.

ITV has mutually agreed with Adrian Chiles and Christine Bleakley that they will step down from their regular presenting roles on Daybreak later this year to focus on their peak time commitments with ITV1.

Adrian Chiles will prioritise his role as the anchor of ITV’s extensive live football coverage, which includes the FA Cup, England’s internationals as well as the UEFA Champions League. It can also be confirmed that Adrian’s successful topical discussion show, That Sunday Night Show, will return to ITV1 for a third series in 2012.

Christine Bleakley will focus on a range of peak time shows for ITV1, including a new role as the co-presenter of Dancing on Ice alongside Phillip Schofield. This December Christine will also host Westlife: For The Last Time and co-present ITV’s major new charity and entertainment initiative for Christmas, Text Santa. ITV1 is also developing a new peak time factual entertainment challenge show with Christine as well as a new peak time home renovation programme.

Peter Fincham, ITV Director of Television, said: “Adrian and Christine are both superb presenters. They have worked tirelessly to help establish Daybreak on ITV1 and they leave the show at a point when ratings have recently seen their biggest year on year increase.
“Adrian has had a hugely positive reception as the host of ITV’s live football coverage since he joined us for the 2010 World Cup and I’m pleased that he will be at the helm of the UK’s biggest free-to-air football offering, and will continue to present his successful That Sunday Night Show.

“I’m delighted that Christine will join Phillip Schofield as the host of one of our biggest entertainment hits, Dancing on Ice, as well as our Christmas event, Text Santa – and as we look ahead to next year we will be working with her on two exciting new peak time projects.”

The new presenters of Daybreak, which over the last three weeks has seen average audiences of more than 800,000 viewers and a peak of 1.4million, will be announced in due course.

I think he was always angling for more money from Sky hence some of his comments.
