Agree with the previous poster Sian with Chris Hollins is a much better bet (for ITV) if they stick with the longer format - also isn't the new editor, her former editor?
Yes - David Kermode is widely regarded as having revitalised Breakfast with Bill and Sian after Dermot and Natasha moved on. Sian is not moving with Breakfast to Salford, and neither is Chris...
Daybreak’s and indeed its predecessors problem wasn’t just presenters it’s content you cannot switch it on for more than 10 minutes without their being some kind of sponsorship or advert break of some kind and that’s the fundamental problem As much money as they make and indeed need to from the advertising deal’s they’re going to have to come some sort of compromise if they want to be any match for BBC otherwise they’ll have to accept their commercial breakfast programme will not work
.
Daybreak has been through so many different formats and set tweaks and gimmicks it lacks identity and familiarity. Other members have raised the point that the first format for the programme was the best were there was a more news orientated mix of content and resources For example what’s the point of having a political editor when you only actually see her do some serious journalism once at week at most the rest of the time she’s sitting on the couch telling us about her most riveting Banana Cakes. I’m not saying don’t promote X Factor or I’m a celebrity or indeed other family stuff but keep that maybe post 8am because people want the news when they wake up and if I watch Daybreak I see Dan and Kate bogeying it on down with the wiggles like soul brothers.
'You can't go ten minutes without adverts, sponsorship, etc', Daybreak don't have adverts in the 6-8am hours anymore, do they? They certainly didn't at the beginning of September.

Christine gets so much bad comments and press just cause she's dating a footballer. They are one of the nicer and more normal pairs plus it's not like she got her tv career thanks to dating him.

No - she gets bad comments (from the public more than the press) because she is an overhyped presenter - and Daybreak has proven she is nowhere near as good as the press made her out to be in the whole "will she, won't she" move from The One Show to Daybreak.

So they have no adverts at all between 6am and 8am (the start of the show to half an hour before the end)???
