Daybreak better be careful not to make that background too 'busy'. Was a very nice shot indeed.

That's very true - I would prefer it if that wall was just blank, how it was at the launch, but with the 'homely' yellow lighting. The coffee machine, and all of that other stuff is simply just clutter!

I suppose that's the difference in audiences. Young males may look at it and think that it looks cluttered, where as their target audience may think it looks homely. I must admit that I prefer the smaller amount of yellow lighting on the main sofa set nowadays, though that could be after the blinds over did it.

I absolutely agree, I think it is a matter of opinion whether the set is cluttered or not. I think it is slightly cluttered with the coffee table. However, at least they haven't overdone it with those hideous yellow blinds. Also the LED screens are not the horrible bright yellow setanta colour they used to be.

In terms of content, the programme is getting better but there is still a vast amount of improvement needed. I hope Helen Fospero presents Daybreak again because I think she was great. I know I keep talking about her but whatever happens with Daybreak in the future she should definitely play a key role.

Interesting that Christine's joined Twitter, stacking up nearly 10,000 followers in just 2 days.

Strikes me that it may be a bit of a popularity thing, maybe to help her connect more with the audience?

Did Christine mention joining Twitter on the programme?

Her profile says she's been tweeting since June/July, but that her first tweet was a few days ago. I suspect she gained a fair few followers upon joining, but just hasn't been tweeting?

I thought David Kermode's appointment was supposed to stir Daybreak away from this sort of thing:

Has Kermode started, I was u set the impression that e was due to begin in the new year.
I notice that next week following donate-a-day earlier this year, they doing a new campaign donate-a-coat.

I've just noticed on the schedule that John Stapleton is going to present Daybreak alongside Christine Bleakley this Wednesday. I think this will make for an interesting pairing and could work very well. It will be good to see John front the programme again with his wealth of experience.

Does anyone know if Sam Mann is now a permanent addition to Daybreak? She's been on the show an awful lot lately doing the showbiz news.

Yes it appears that Adrian and Christine have been axed.

Assuming Dan and Kate will now become the permanent presenters?

Obviously Kermode thinks that axing Adrian and Christine is the key to solving Daybreak's problems, then I assume he'll be keen to sort out content problems and everything else.

I wouldn't say that Kate and Dan will definitely become the new hosts, I can imagine some new, but less high-profile anchors being brought in, like how Emma Crosby was brought in during GMTV's 2009 relaunch.

I'd say that this is true, what with Schofield and ITV's Press Office rushing out a statement about Christine becoming host of Dancing On Ice earlier this evening. Remember, Holly said we'll find out 'her news' next week, I bet ITV were going to confirm that Christine would be DOI's host then, but they heard about the Mirror's front page and decided to release that information earlier today.
