More interestingly is the appointment of David Kermode as Editor of Daybreak, seen as responsible for the turn of fortunes for BBC Breakfast.

It'll be very interesting to see what he does with Daybreak.

Great start to Daybreak this morning, with Dan and Christine stood by that breakfast stand.

More subtle tweaks to the opening tomorrow so I'm told

I've just had a look on ITV Player, and I like it, it adds a different shot to the usual, but I did see the same shot replicated at the top of the 7am hour, which made the opening a bit repetitious of the 6am, but it's nice to see something a bit different. I actually watched a bit of the programme, and enjoyed the range of subjects that they covered. On presentation, I like the more yellow lighting around the screen in the 6am hour. I don't understand why Tasmin is sat for the news now, especially as it makes it look as though the desk is supporting her. I look forward to seeing any future changes.

Is that a new clock they have? it looks like a different frame to it and a bit of a brighter backlight to it

I'm not sure, but I can see where you're coming from.

Looking at it now and on launch day last year it looks to be the same clock, just with a different light on it.

Daybreak better be careful not to make that background too 'busy'. Was a very nice shot indeed. Different. It had me wondering if the videowall was broken when I caught it at 6. There is definitely an improvement in the news content now. I only seem to catch 6-6:30 however.

That's very true - I would prefer it if that wall was just blank, how it was at the launch, but with the 'homely' yellow lighting. The coffee machine, and all of that other stuff is simply just clutter!

I suppose that's the difference in audiences. Young males may look at it and think that it looks cluttered, where as their target audience may think it looks homely. I must admit that I prefer the smaller amount of yellow lighting on the main sofa set nowadays, though that could be after the blinds over did it.
