Daybreak - the launch onwards

Judging by the look of these new graphics I think this just might be the start of some good times for Daybreak.

I liked the look of Daybreak when it launched, but watching back the very first episode I can now see that the purple and yellows suit an evening programme much better. I think the beautiful sunrise they had that morning helped the studio to look it's best.





I haven't really watched it since because I wasn't a big fan of the content, to me it felt just like GMTV with some familiar faces and some new ones thrown in to the mix. The introduction of the red sofa earlier this year I think was a bit of a panic and didn't work well and it has all seemed a bit bodged until today.

I'm looking forward to see the tweeked graphics gradually being introduced over the next few weeks as I thinks the bold bright blues, striking yellows and white will be a welcome change when it starts to get darker in the coming weeks. The red sofa will fit in with the new colours too! I expect the only purple left will be the logo.

The colours are similar to Australia's 7 Sunrise, particularly the headline round up, which seems to work very well.

I liked the idea of the video screen being used for the first hour, so as has been said already, the design of the chairs was very old (didn't This Morning use these about 12 years ago?), and I think the idea of the chairs overall looks weird. The original sofas looked like they could have been moved a lot easier than the current ones. I wonder if they would consider moving the sofa in front of the screen through winter, if there's room, and use the window area for any performances, etc.

The news area looked lovely today. I think the standing up presentation helps a lot. The colouring of the gentle yellow shine with the blue backing works very well. Yes it may be a bit GMTV, but the colours are a lot better than the garish yellow blinds used last winter.

The design of the sports desk & coffee table look quite out of place with the new elements introduced, though is the new news screen the old multi screen display that has been amended?

Do you mean the sides to the performance area?, and they can change to any colour, they were just blue for Barrowman.

A blue news logo has been posted on the back of Tasmin's laptop, I hope that they're going to cover the Daybreak logo on her little podium sort thing with it.

No I think he's talking about the screens behind the sofa that can be any colour but were until recently Yellow and Orange.

Why the hell would they want that utterly pointless, self centred, attention seeking, plastic slut as a guest?!?
