Lovely new news section of the studio. Shame they have kept the purple for the logo. It looks very odd compared to the studio colours now.

Here's Tasmin at the big screen, with perhaps a hint to what may be in store for the graphics?

So, more captures:
The performance area - it's much bigger, making use of the fact there isn't a News desk anymore, and there are new lighting strip things around the side.
A shot from behind the sofa. The performance area takes up most of the space, and, as far as I can tell, no News desk.
The new News desk area. Looks very nice!
And, the main table has a rug underneath it now.
All in all, it looks much nicer. Not too sure on the rug, though, or the graphic on the screens - looked like it had frozen, or something...
Also, Kate mentioned that Dan was a good dancer, before laughing, with the camera crew, and saying to watch out for announcements later this week. This most likely lines him up for SCD.

Does anyone really want to see Barrowman singing before breakfast?
That's a rhetorical question.

Yes, indeed. I'm still not sure I like the design of them, though. They look like someone's put a jigsaw together incorrectly...
It's a rotten shame I didn't capture the new break-bumper.
The new look is much more like GMTV, especially the new breakbumper. They should have just stuck the Daybreak logo over the old GMTV design!

I really like it. The video wall set looked brilliant and I was actually a bit disappointed when they went back to the main set at 7am. But it looks like they've finally got their solution to the window problem and we'll be seeing much more of the video wall set over the coming months, the whole show will probably end up being presented from there by November.
The new news set is brilliant too and Tasmin definitely looks more at ease when shes stood up presenting. That aspect looks much more professional but the colouring absolutely screams GMTV especially the on screen graphic. The panels behind the sofa look a lot better in blue too. I wouldn't be surprised to see the logo recoloured that colour and made 3D/glass like the news logo when the new graphics come in. But at least the set is pretty much sorted out now, the main focus needs to shift onto the editorial side of things.

Meanwhile on BBC Breakfast, they just have some Barcos and a sofa, and get better ratings. It shows really that people watch for content and substance, not stylistic studios.
It was partly the lack of consistency that ended GMTV. I understand they need to change things to make them better, but for only a year after launch, there have been countless changes which should have been considered before the very beginning of the start.
