Very interesting - and reflecting on some postings earlier in this thread, let's not forget he's the man who edited Breakfast when Natasha Kaplinsky was there and also brought her to Five News.

Think it might be more a case of Jay Hunt recruiting them both to Five/C5, but then moving to the BBC after a short period when the controllership became available unexpectedly, leaving them both stranded without their main support? (Jay will have worked with David when she edited the One and Six O'Clock News, and also when she was daytime commissioner at the BBC I expect)

Significant set changes on hold after ITV Studios takeover. Minor set changes from Monday. First hour presented from video wall, 2nd and 3rd hour from sofa. Much euphoria after appointment of Kermode - seen as a solid pair of hands and worthy successor to current respected editor.

Look out for new news too! Graphics and other tweaks delayed - should be on air within two weeks.

As always, thank you for your accurate and reliable insider information - always adding to the thread, rather than the back-and-forth rumours or 'it would be great if they did this' posts that all the other posts seem to be made up of.

Daybreak has a fantastic team behind it now - Fiona Keenaghan has a string of successful shows behind her. She was actually a GMTV Producer in the past when it was no.1 breakfast show and she has also been a producer of the 'Tonight' shows so she has experience with serious news programme's, as well as the lighter shows such as This Morning.

Will we see presenters sitting in their own chairs accompanied by a television to the left of the male presenter? Laughing Laughing

Do you think that its damaged reputation will take a lot away from the impending changes? People might look at the rebranding with scepticism. Also, there's only so much you can do with Adrian, especially Christine, if they're going to make it more newsy like they promised a year ago. Also Tasmin just seems wooden and quite out of her depth.

Actually watching the show makes you actually realise how bad it is. Dan and Christine were rolling Oreos down their faces the other day. And she still continues to laugh at unfunny things. How arrogant, considering there's not really much going on upstairs.

Adrian & Christine are no different to Ben & Kate or Andrew & Emma. The only difference is that the male host was the light entertainment presenter and the female host was the journalist. It's the other way around and Christine has proven herself capable time and time again, although when such female presenters present these types of shows, they're always branded as thick. The presenters are fine, they're only as good as the material they're given.

100% agree with everything you have said. Adrian and Christine have proved that they can handle the light stuff, and when they have had to, the serious news content.

Exactly. It's the same with The One Show, which often contains serious items or discusses serious news of the day, which Adrian and Christine handled brilliantly. Whilst I feel the pair thought they were bigger than they actually were, they have become scapegoats for the failure of Daybreak, which was fundamentally an editorial one, not a personality or asthetic one which an awful lot of people on here assume.

A very slick start to Daybreak this morning, all presenters having their individual red 'tub' chair in front of the video wall, News presented by Tamsin stood up by big screen, looks good, different colours are present, blues and yellows, hints of possibly new graphics on videowall and news screen, looks good for a first glance!
