So the Daily Mail are reporting that Christine is also going to four days a week from September. You can never believe what you read in the Mail about Daybreak as it seems they are "Daybreak haters", as they were with GMTV. If true, this is not a big deal though, with a lot of shows the main presenters only work a four day week I.e. Phil and Holly on This Morning: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-2023009/Daybreak-duo-day-week-pay-remains-same.html

I absolutely agree you have to look at these articles with a pinch of salt but the fact of the matter it is not really that big a deal. So from September it will be Adrian and Christine Monday to Thursday with Dan and Kate on the Fridays. The only thing I was thinking was that if Kate is presenting Daybreak on Fridays on a permanent basis then who will present Lorraine ? I thought she was the main relief presenter for the programme or will they revert back to having guest presenters. I really think they should give the Friday slot to Helen Fospero because I think she is excellent . I cannot understand why Daybreak did not keep her on the programme. Or maybe they might give the slot to the recently axed Loose Women anchor Kate Thornton ?
Also I see Fiona Phillips is guest presenting Lorraine all next week and Adrian is presenting the England friendly against Holland on Wednesday. However, Dan Lobb said he was on holiday over the next few weeks so who will cover presenting the show with Christine. I would like to see John Stapleton present alongside Christine because I think they would have good chemistry together.
I think Kate Thornton would be great as the Friday "Lorraine" presenter. As Daybreak/Lorraine is now coming under 'ITV Studios' from September it could be possible as they make This Morning and Loose Women and Kate has presented for both shows.

But, equally, that may also exactly be the reason that Kate won't get it!

Its a good move to have Daybreak with 2 distinct sets of presenters on different days instead of the current mix and match set up that they tried to avoid after GMTV but have lapsed back into. But when the football comes around Adrian will be doing even less than 4 days a week. I have always thought that Adrian & Christine were only ever launching Daybreak and would then move on within a year or two and it does seem like Adrian at least is being phased out.
Friday's Lorraine will probably alternate between Fiona Phillips, Jackie Brambles and Helen Fospero as they're the main ones who do it if Kate doesn't. I think it might be better to get Lorraine to record the Friday episode (make it showbiz special or something to disguise it as not being live.
Kate Thornton would be good, but I have a feeling her agent is going to try and get her away from ITV as they are nothing but awful to her.
I don't understand why people want to see Helen Fospero returning. She never had the warmth factor on gmtv, unlike penny and priya. I think Helen is someone who should be on mainstream news on a more formal approach. Other names that come to mind are andrea benfield and the girl that is covering holly on this morning (name unknown).
Also for next Wednesday, we might even see Richard Gaisford on the sofa presenting.

I'm sorry but I don't agree with some of the points you made - each to their own though!! Helen is a very warm presenter indeed, much more so than Priya Kaur Jones and Helen suits both a formal news anchor role and handles Lorraine excellently.
I think that Andrea Benfield is rather stiff in her presenting - something that is improving with experience - though she is much better than Lucy Watson.
Also, I think the 'girl' you are referring to is former GMTV presenter Jenny Falconer?
I hope we don't see Gaisford on the sofa any time soon! He is a great reporter, yet sadly I found him difficult to watch on the sofa when he did stints on GMTV and Daybreak.
Penny was brilliant, she had gravitas, humour, was warm, friendly and could easily switch from talking about serious stories to celebrity gossip without batting an eyelid. I don't think anyone will come close for quite a while but Helen did a very good job of replacing her in the final months and had similar traits but not quite
as
good. Helen was much better than Priya who to me just came across as 'lights are on but noones home'.
I don't mind Tasmin so much but she doesn't have much authority and sometimes it seems a bit forced. Lucy I find a bit dull and robotic whilst I could never warm to Andrea on GMTV & Daybreak. She does a fine job on ITV News though, whilst were chucking about names of ex staff she reminds me a lot of Emma Crosby- great at the big national bulletins but not so good when it comes to being a bit more personable.
As much as I not a fan of Nina Hossain doing the ITV News, if she wasn't due to go on maternity leave, I think she would have been a good candidate for it.
with adrian not doing fridays why not have itns keir simmons,he was in was in the mix this morning.. could make the show more news driven- just a thought.
Yet again great coverage from Daybreak this morning, its like banging your head against a brick wall with them. They
can
be the breakfast show they first set out to be and still retain the 'GMTV' feel. It happens every time there is a big story.
I find it very sad that there has been no mention anywhere of Cordelia Kretzschmar who not only did reporting from the scene (like a lot of other reporters who are getting praise) but she actually helped a woman whos house was on fire and she was trapped behind her front door with her kids upstairs.
