Personally I like the separate anchors for news, sport... I'm not keen on Adrian and Christine, Adrian can't read the autoQ unless the script says;

Adrian: Still to errr come on ummm Daybreak this err morning...

With Adrian reading the news we'll just get more of them!

I think Adrian and Christine need to read the top story, instead of handing straight over to Tasmin at :01 past the hour. The main presenters should tell viewers the main story of the day, then let Tasmin read the other stories of the morning.

Jeremy Kyle is the most successful show in the ITV daytime line-up in share terms, but you've just decided to ignore it

Very interesting images and views on here. Very quickly set up if it was just 3 minutes before tx.

The one thing I don't understand with them wanting daybreak & Lorraine to be two completely separate programmes, is why they decided to create sister brands with the logo, on screen graphics and music matching each other. It works for the fact that they're in the old GMTV slot, and can share reporters, possibly guests and news, but I imagine most people will see Lorraine as being part of daybreak.

Similar logo/design/theme = When you think of ITV Breakfast, you think of Daybreak and Lorraine.

But with ITV Breakfast being absorbed into ITV Studios, will things stay that way?

Err, yes, of course. What's that got to do anything? When you think of ITV from 6am to 9.25 you'll always think of Daybreak and Lorraine.

And in millions it is the most successful show until 4/5pm usually getting around 1.5m viewers. Also, a further problem with the 2 fantasy schedules is splitting This Morning and Loose Women with the news. That just loses even more audience for an already weak Loose Women. There is a reason they swapped the two shows over a few years ago.

How about:

10:30 This Morning
12:30 Loose Women

That would still be halfing the time for their most popular show, and running Lorraine past 9.25am just opens a legal minefield with STV and UTV. It just isn't going to change, and there is no real reason for it to. They need to focus on fixing their existing shows which are all flagging rather than messing about with the times.

Or, how about doing a UK version of (NBC's) TODAY? It's a proven, flexible format that can successfully span up to four hours on air. It's features a good (progressive) mix of news, live interviews, analysis and weather with lifestyle, female/mother-oriented features. It's a dozen times better than BBC Breakfast, makes the Americans half a billion dollars a year (I'm not suggesting a UK-version would make that, but could potentially make a lot more than Daybreak or GMTV) and has the multi-talented superstar Savannah Guthrie.

ABC's Good Morning America also has a very successful format. Both have strong identities, strong on-air teams and - most importantly - know what they're trying to be.

In comparison, Daybreak is a poor-man's The One Show stretched to two and a half hours and with commercial breaks.

Why would ITV put an hour long programme in a half-hour slot? I don't think that that really makes sense.
