Technical problems on Tyne Tees & Border at around 8:18 after regional news yesterday - cut to Kate Fisher leaving the studio followed by a still of empty studio. During the ad breaks a slide 'Daybreak Tyne Tees & Border: Back Soon'...

Whilst on ITV1 Yorkshie +1 generic slide of 'ITV1 Yorkshire'..

Any caps? Very Happy

It was like that but with the sparkles with Yorkshire written underneath it.

I am actually liking the whole Adrian and Kate duo. Kate should be back as a main anchor, I know she can be a bit dippy and OTT but to be honest she knows the ropes and when it comes to serious news she can really pull it out the bag!

Strange isn't it? Kate was a pretty serious news presenter/reporter in her Sky and News 24 early days... Certainly wouldn't have described her as dippy back then.

I agree I think Adrian presents much better with Kate. But I also like Christine as well as she has become much more professional over the last few months (even if she still giggles). Christine presents much better with Dan however I would like to see much more of Grainne. Over the summer it will be interesting to see what presenting duo's there will be with all the main presenters on summer holidays at alternative times. As for ratings again Daybreak got another dire rating of 400,000 for the last Bank Holiday Monday. However during normal weekdays the shows ratings appear to be holding up at around the average 800,000 with viewing share of between 17.5 to 19.5 %.

It will also be interesting to see what happens over the summer holidays as the schools are off. GMTV always had lower ratings during the July / August period. If the ratings are low for Daybreak during the Bank Holiday imagine how low they could go during the summer. If this is the case does mean a revamp of some kind is more inevitable to happen at the beginning of September.

I agree that Adrian/Kate, Christine/Dan make better duos, Adrian and Kate are more serious whereas Dan and Christine are more laied back. Having presenters with simlar personalities means the don't clash

I guess there will be a first anniversary revamp come September.

I'm not sure anything major will happen in September but ITV may be looking to see year on year performance once they get into the second or third week of September, and then decide from there. ITV are obviously not too bothered about Daybreaks performance as something would have happened long before now. They've admitted it is a bit of a let down but ultimately, it is performing roughly the same as GMTV did between 6 and 8.30am.

Adrian is umming and erring uncontrollably, can't they just tell him to stick to the autocue!?

I would enjoy the donate a day piece a lot more if they turned the bloody music down so we can hear what is being said Mad

something I hate with all tv charity appeals, over the top heart wrenching music played over some child with cancer or adult with altzimers. I want to know about the people and the charity not listen to some bloody sad song Rolling Eyes

Remove the sad music and it often loses its effect, so less people will donate. I really don't understand how you can object to the use of music when it is tried and tested to raise more money.

I donate to worthy causes because I care about them not because they are playing some sad song over the film

I know a child with cancer who goes to Manchester children's hopsital for chemo but we don't have sad music playing everytime we see her

That's just such a ridiculous comparison I'm struggling for the words.

Have you ever wondered why film and TV shows use music at dramatic moments?

Well it adds to the tension or emotion. In this case the emotion and can make you feel different thus in this case feel more compelled to give money.

If it wasn't for such campaigns with music having the effect of encouraging people to donate, the child you know could well not be going for chemo. There are plenty of children who sadly haven't got that option and that number would increase. And frankly if you're in such a situation, you should know how hard it is and should want as much money raised as possible.
