Adrian Chiles is on This Morning tomorrow to promote this DonateADay thing, which is interesting. You'd think they'd ask Christine to go on TM, as its more female-orientated and also it would allow for viewers who don't watch Daybreak to give it a chance. Can't help but feel Adrian won't appeal as much...
I wouldn't expect Phillip and Jenny to question him about the state of Daybreak either. Unless they comment on how its now 'getting stronger' or 'seen the worst' etc. Which I do kind of agree with.

Yes the This Morning interview with Adrian Chiles was interesting I agree with Joshua it would make more sense to have Christine on promoting the Donate A Day Campaign. I don't really have a problem with the campaign itself I don't think it is too lighthearted. But maybe as Badger 264 and others have suggested it should be associated with programmes like Lorraine's show.
As for the interview it was quite interesting gauging his reaction to Daybreak when questioned about the show I.e. struggling with the early hours etc. It was also interesting when Jenny questioned him about the Daybreak studio and how dark it is during mid-winter. He said the production team were working on it but does that mean there will be any major changes to the studio by the Autumn? It is difficult to see what they can do during the winter months other than using the big blinds.
The interview with the Prime Minister David Cameron earlier this morning was also quite good the only criticism was that I wish they questioned him much more about the coalition. This kind of interview is important because Daybreak was setting the news agenda. Excerpts from the interview this morning were shown on BBC News, ITV News and Sky News in relation to the ongoing super-injunction saga. It demonstrates Daybreak can be more news orientated however the right balance has to be made.
Agree with the post above, the agenda setting interviews is something Daybreak has been lacking. Lorraine had the McCanns on last week and they were allover the news, so they've finally got it right this week having David Cameron on. It does nothing in the short term but if they continue this type of interview over the next few weeks and months, then it will slowly help the news reputation build.
With regards to the studio, I think they should consider making use of the side with no windows, ie ditching the screen wall thing and possibly the sports desk. In effect they could build two sets that could be used for the early hours and it will stop the garish blinds. Something similar to the This Morning set could work, with the many different and distinguishable areas.
With regards to Christine, it would be a shame not to use Holly's maternity leave as an attempt to boost the ratings or even increase her profile, giving her a 3 week stint before the summer.
There wasn't no, but Lucy had appeared at 6.50 LIVE from the CFS and did end it rather abruptly possibly catching Christine and Adrian out a bit from what I remember.
Just seen a very good advert for Daybreak. It recaps on this mornings super injuction interview then ties in with todays Ryan Gigg's story. It ends with the voiceover "Daybreak, setting the days agenda". I know it isn't the most high brow story to lead with but its good to see it advertise big news stories in this way.
Except for anyone who actually watched today, the PM's interview at 8am was about that 'Donate A Day' campaign, whilst a worthy cause, is NOT news! The bit of the interview that has been played over news outlets everywhere today about superinjunctions wasn't until after the local news at 8.15 - SURELY it should have been the other way around?!

Having the interview on in the first place is half the battle won, because irrespective of the order Daybreak is allover the news today.
Which is great, I'm not arguing that. But they shouldn't pretend they are 'setting the day's agenda' if they themselves are leading with the wrong story!! For a viewer that is grossly misleading.

I do agree with what you're saying, but getting the right content right at the minute is priority over running order. Its better to have such things after the 8.15 regional news than not at all.

I know it's not like David Cameron has country to run and a whole list of other engagments.
