Just watching back bits of the first programme..

The opening titles are so very cliched, as has been mentioned it is basically 'Good Morning with Anne and Nick'. It doesn't looks very cosy as a programme, although it is nice not to have a orange/yellow/red colour scheme.

I still think that 'Daybreak' is a rubbish name

The regional news here in London looks odd as it still has the live shot from the old London Tonight studio so the view of St Pauls is the same as Daybreak's albeit darker and fuzzier!

There are a few silly gimmicks and regular features which won't last, as happens in every new programme like this. The walking around the studio didn't really work for me neither did the highlights package at the end of the programme (just a first day thing)

The weather cameras are interesting, I wonder how they're done? I assume that they're not sat-trucks and crews positioned randomly at various points around the country, if so it's surely not something they'll be doing every day. Some sort of 'Earth TV' type of automated fixed camera

Well the view of Gateshead/Newcastle is from days when Tyne Tees used to use the live shot as their background for quite a while.

What was the point of the five screens, not even Adrian knew,

I suspect it's a bit of set designed for a segment that was dropped before launch!

I think that screen set up would look better in the gap between the sofas, at least they can turn to it if they are doing something elsewhere live.

Daybreak's rule book strongly discourages live's though so it would sit there being just as pointless as it is now.

I can't imagine the live rule staying long.

Well, I'm sure the viewers of ITV's mega-regions are gutted at the prospect of you having a 'fuzzy image' of your locale for a few moments during the local bulletin, Inspector!

I couldn't give a stuff about what the other regions do, my point was about London, which was...

It's a shame they didn't take the opportunity to find a different backdrop to the Daybreak one, it doesn't really work

Complain to someone else that the backdrop to your region doesn't provide a sunrise on time, not ITV.

I'd start with Prof Hawking if I were you, Inspector!

Much the same here in the Midlands too with the view of the Birmingham skyline.

Judging by this picture from JPG's blog, I assume that some of the cameras are fixed and the others are sat trucks (i.e. Cambridge, Cardiff and Birmingham are sourced from the uPod's).
