Sorry to be OT, but what are you using to encode your videos? The frame rate looks slow like 15fps instead of 25fps.

We had a similar cock up at the same bulletin. The presenter said goodbye, the Daybreak sting played and midway through it cut back to Granada for a split second where we saw the presenter putting her scripts underneath the desk. Is there any technical reason why ITV Breakfast can't seem to consistently cut to and from regions faultlessly? It used to happen during GMTV all the time.

Frame rate was saved in 25fps via avs video editor. That actually came off my DVD, (just filled up last few mins as I had footy/sport stuff on it) and ripped the .vob file and edited to boot.

Funny enough I had a flick over to ITV1HD during that bulletin yesterday to see Sarah Elliot who was at Border a few years ago, how long she been at Granada? She a replacement for the other women, as I see the regular Granada D/B presenter is heavily pregnant!

Back in the days of GMTV, when Anglia seemed quite good at failing to opt back, the presenter closed the bulletin, when then didn't opt back to GMTV. We got around 30 seconds of her faffing around, disconnecting her microphone and putting papers away before she walked out of shot. Another 15 seconds of an empty studio and we cut to a black screen, before cutting to a GMTV logo loop, and then eventually a capton - ITV ANGLIA BACK SHORTLY' before cutting back during a report.

She came to Granada around 2006 when she left Border, and was a relief weekday presenter/late bulletin presenter as well as one of the main weekend presenters. She left around 2009 and recently returned to her weekend role. From what I can gather she has only started Daybreak bulletins this week but Keri Eldridge was on this morning despite looking like shes about to drop any second now!

Bit late, did anyone (particularly in the Northern Regions) have a cock up at the 7.15 regional bulletin yesterday?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vz9nubQKGII - Tyne Tees/Border didn't opt back for a good 30 seconds after the bulletin had finished... First real cock up i've seen...

They always seem to opt to TT/B a second or two too late and at the end the end of the bulletin, Sarah Kelly always says 'bye' and remains on screen for 4-5 seconds after....

That poor woman looks very awkward, as you can imagine. Do we think she knew she was still on air? She didn't actually look like she was doing anything important - just faffing and looking busy so she doesn't look silly just sitting there.

Yeah, I think she did know she was still on air, as she almost burst out laughing just at the moment where Hillary appeared.

Some regions decide to go for one strong name/presenters were as others like us use a cheap, inexperienced presenter.

Pakokelso, if you close your eyes and listen to that clip, the weather presenter who appears at the very end sounds like Carol Vorderman. Dead ringer, in fact (but only if you close your eyes).

Is it actually Carol's voice who is dubbed over for the weather? Wink

Having caught quite a bit of Daybreak yesterday on ITV1 HD South East, the opts going to Meridian and back were extremely messy, with loss of sync on the video and popping on the audio every time, missing the first second or two of the regional bulletin as the encoders seemed to freeze. The opts on ITV1 HD have never been great but I'm surprised they've allowed them to go out that bad.

That's been happening on ITV1 HD London as well, the opt outs are very messy.
