I honestly don't think BBC Breakfast moving to Salford will make a whole lot of difference. It seems that audiences dont care about the studio or presenters, but about content. Breakfast will obviously go down the route of having a guest in London and talking to them that way. Half of the audience won't even notice! However it would be the perfect oppourtunity for Daybreak to get MPs in, various political guests which Breakfast won't be able to talk to in the same manner given that they'll be up North.

Apart from the big wig names, aren't MP's and other political guests who are interviewed actually in the Westminster studio rather than the main studio? So in essence no change there when BBC Breakfast moves to City of Salford.

Plus what is the travelling time between London and Manchester/Salford (ermm just over 2 hours by train nowadays, plus the numerous short-haul flights and coaches!). So its not that difficult getting to the studios!

And wonderful health and safety has really improved! Sad

Indeed. I would imagine that Fred would have to wear a life-jacket if he wanted to do that 'stunt' nowadays.

He wouldn't need to jump across to Ireland to begin with Laughing.

Nope just a bigger map of the North West and could you imagine him jumping across to Isle of Man!!! Shocked

Not a fan. Maybe it's a regional bias thing/affiliation. I don't remember him ever being so patronising on This Morning but maybe he was more suited to the more 'something silly at the end of the show' real weather map on the Albert Dock. Don't think his style is my cup of tea, very CRINGEWORTHY. 'We NEEEEEED the rain for our gardens' repeated about 3-4 times. Fred, do one!

I too don't think Fred is well suited on Daybreak........I think they should have made a move and hired Tomasz Schafernakere that was dropped by the BBC earlier this year. I feel he would be ideal for Daybreak!!

Wouldn't it be possible, for example, for a separate interviewer to be down in London to do a face-to-face interview with the PM if required? It might seem disparate from the main show, but it may be preferable. If an interview can be preplanned, then it should be easier to get him to Salford.

Interviews from the Westminster studio are commonplace on The Andrew Marr Show, and they don't ruin the show.

Sian and Chris will 'continue to be involved' so I imagine there will be a London studio of some form, if not mirroring Daybreak and having a new show airing fromm 8.30-9.15am.

'for the foreseeable future' - in the sense they're not leaving tomorrow. I really don't see there being a separate programme - there isn't the money for it.

Dont think I have seen it mentioned here that Daybreak will not be in the studio for the Royal Wedding.

Quote:
Daybreak hosts Adrian Chiles and Christine Bleakley are to abandon their usual studio to host the ITV1 show outside Buckingham Palace for the royal wedding.
I would assume the weather is likely to be outside somewhere.
The duo - normally based at London's South Bank - will be in a new studio outside the palace for the morning of April 29.

EDIT: Probably the constructed studio that will be used for ITV News for the day
Quote:
TV will broadcast comprehensive coverage of the Royal Wedding of Prince William and Catherine Middleton on Friday 29th April, presented by ITV News at Ten's Julie Etchingham and ITV's Phillip Schofield, who will anchor coverage live from a specially constructed studio opposite Buckingham Palace.

This is my mock up of a new TOTH script for Daybreak. Part of me likes it and thinks it could work well, but part of me also thinks it's too full. The headline bit before the titles is the same idea as this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xIPQ1OWA29c). I think It gives a overview of the headlines, and also what's to come during the show. Obviously everything can be re-structured and moved around, but this is the core idea. Note how I haven't named the presenters either.

The finance news was my idea to bring to Daybreak. Could work well with Adrian seeing as he used to do finance news. Might also make the programme appear to the wider audience. I've posted this in the Gallery too considering it is also a mock, but posted on here as an idea for an improved intro.
