I know where Granada is going Rolling Eyes I mean why would they add a map in the new studios? Corrie is coming from a ITV Studios new build, but Granada is coming from a studio/office already built. Also This Morning is not coming from Manchester it's staying in London so why would they bring the map back?

I think he's suggesting that Granada Reports adopts this floating map.

I'm suggesting Granada Reports should occasionally adopt the floating map whilst they still have Fred because it will be coming from Salford Quays. This Morning doesn't even come into the equation.

You've got remember Fred's age in all of this - he's no Spring chicken now; he might not want to be leaping about a floating weather map!

Indeed. I would imagine that Fred would have to wear a life-jacket if he wanted to do that 'stunt' nowadays.

I just don't think it would be allowed at all regardless the age, H & S is too advanced.

+Insurance which means maintenance etc etc the list goes on and it all comes then down to cost. And that is how life will be from now on. sorry to be so down I am Smile

Fair point, but it makes the places where he can stand even smaller. He had a hard time standing still when he had the whole UK!

I challenge you to find any form of Health & Safety laws which would prevent him from doing his weather report in the same style as he used to.

The notion that H&S has banned everything is a complete fallacy.
