why do you have daybreak in your sig twice?

... and why is it breaking the signature rules of the forum?

...and why is this necessary discussion?

I honestly think the show is getting worse. From their Facebook page:

Are you looking forward to the weekend? Have you got something nice planned?
Let us know and we'll read some of your comments out on the show tomorrow

What has happened to the on screen graphic strap lines on '' Central '' during the opt - out ? The quality is just awful & the end of the strap line that comes out of the clock & go across the screen from left to right does not fade towards the right hand side if you know what I mean ?

Has this always been how it has looked on ''Central '' or are the other local opt - outs like this as well ?

I think the colour of the sofa is fine. But the size is just ugly! Here I have drafted what the old style sofa could look like in red: (apologies for crude editing)

I hope you'll agree that a lower backed sofa makes sure the view is utilised better (granted, this is a wide shot). I also like the idea that Chiles and Bleakly could sit in the middle of the sofa; instead of the awkward angle at which they currently sit.

That looks great, simple and effective unlike the current mess.

Have you not been following then? "Simple and effective" = cold and stark.

Which plainly doesn't appeal to viewers.

You don't want people to think you're simple, do you?

Adrian said in an interview that he didn't like the sofa's, and this was after the change to the backrest. So, there was a design change coming in terms of the sofa I think. But the colour is an interesting issue, theres no explination as to why they chose red and that is interesting. To be honest, its obvious that the bosses are trying to revert back into GMTV's cosy style. I did prefer the purple sofa, but looking at September 6th and now, the studio is much more brighter, and it does look better. Those wooden walls were so dark back at the launch, and it didn't look like a morning show until the sun came up.

While I do like the brighter set, I still dont like the chunky new sofa, but apparently there are more set changes coming soon.

Josh, as Gav so kindly pointed out, Daybreak are returning to a tried and tested morning colour palette. There is a reason!

Connews, that red sofa in the image above IS virtual, if you note the comments made by bpmikey preceding his image.

Anyway, I am not sure if the colour of the sofa is really going to make any difference to this programme at all. I am not able to see Daybreak, but what about the programme content? Is it well made, well done, authoritative, believable and watchable? Despite the sofa and the gallons of alleged chemistry that exists between the two principal players, if the actual content of the programme is "naff", then the whole thing will remain "naff".

Unable to scroll up to recheck, but I glimpsed a correspondent above making a comment about Daybreak's suggestion that viewers should text, email or tweet the studios and tell them what they were planning to do at the weekend.

Good Lord. If that's the programme maker's idea of credible content and output, then British Breakfast Television really has plummeted to new depths of naffness.

Let's not get this out of context. It came as a result of a request by the presenters for good news stories after a week of dreadful headlines.
